The national coat of arms of New Eiffel was the heraldic symbol representing the small European micronation of the Principality of New Eiffel. It was adopted on 4 March 2019 after a referendum, and used until New Eiffel's dissolution on 1 November 2020. The committee that created it, the Society of Arms, was headed by Grand Marshal Abrams I, who had created it on 3 March 2019 after being commissioned by Zabëlle I, Prince of New Eiffel on 2 March. The design consists of an or crown on top of a knight helmet, fronting a mantling of azure and gules. The escutcheon is a half-white half-green heater shield with a round bottom, bearing a sun halo and Jesus Christ carrying a lamb. It is supported by two red foxes standing on a compartment of bushy vert grass. Fronting the grass below the centre of the shield is a green Latin cross. Below the grass is a stylised banner bearing the national motto of New Eiffel: "Aspire to inspire, before we expire."

The earliest predecessor state to New Eiffel was the Republic of New Finland, established on 31 December 2017. The first coat of arms was designed by then-President Zabëlle Skye on 1 January 2018, and officially adopted that same day. As Skye had no knowledge of heraldry, the design was unconventional. The second coat of arms was created and adopted on 9 February, and replaced on 4 June. Again designed by Skye, this coat of arms was slightly more conventional but still unusual. The third coat of arms was adopted on 4 June when New Finland transitioned into a kingdom, and was kept through the principality until 4 March 2019. It was also designed by Skye and had a more conventional and simplistic design. Nevertheless, when New Eiffel made entry into the MicroWiki sector in September 2018, the coat of arms was subject to infrequent criticism from micronationalists, prompting Skye to commission Abrams I.

Description

Atop the emblem is a golden crown on top of a knight helmet, fronting a mantling of azure and gules. Below the grass is a stylised banner bearing the motto of New Eiffel, inscribed with black text in English: "Aspire to inspire, before we expire." The crown and helmet represent the monarchy of New Eiffel. The lamb that Jesus Christ is carrying symbolises the Lamb of God, a title for Jesus in the Gospel of John that is a foundational and integral message of Christianity—the official religion of the erstwhile micronation. The Latin cross also asserts the importance of Christianity. The supporters, the red fox, was the national animal of New Eiffel.

History

The earliest predecessor state to the Principality of New Eiffel was the Republic of New Finland, established on 31 December 2017. The first coat of arms was designed by then-President Zabëlle Skye on 1 January 2018, and officially adopted that same day. As Skye had no knowledge of heraldry, the design was unconventional; a white rectangular shape with round edges and a purple outline as the escutcheon, inside of which was an unidentified orange symbol—which also appeared on the first flag of New Finland—and the obscure black text "MZJ". It was supported by a unicorn and wolf. Behind the shield were a pair of angel wings, and below it was a blank banner.

The second coat of arms was created and adopted on 9 February, and replaced on 4 June. Again designed by Skye, this coat of arms was more conventional, though the interior of the escutcheon remained unusual. Supported by a falcon and a wolf, the escutcheon was a vert heater shield—with pronounced edges—with a black outline below a black crown. Depicted on the shield was an orange star and Latin cross, as well as meaningless shapes such as two bright green squares, a yellow rectangle and five or tildes. Reflecting on its creation, Skye said that he was trying to make it appear complicated by adding various symbols and shapes with no symbolism.

The third coat of arms was adopted on 4 June when New Finland transitioned into a kingdom, and was kept through the principality until 4 March 2019. It was also designed by Skye. This design, the simplest of all New Finlandic and New Eiffelic coats of arms, consisted of a heater shield supported by a cat and a fox, with a przepaska eagle at the top of the shield. Half-cendrée and half-green, the escutcheon had a black Latin cross at the bottom. After New Eiffel made entry into the MicroWiki sector in September, the coat of arms was subject to infrequent criticism from micronationalists. On 2 March 2019, Grand Marshal Abrams I of the Society of Arms was commissioned by Skye to design a new coat of arms for New Eiffel, which he created on 3 March using the program Inkscape. Skye originally also wanted a cat supporter, but settled for two foxes. Pleased with the design, Skye held a non-binding referendum in which all five residents supported its adoption. It was officially adopted on 4 March, and was used until New Eiffel's dissolution on 1 November 2020.
