New Admins!

I propose holding an election to elect 2 new admins to help the current administration with moderation and over all administration. Any active member would be able to nominate a fellow micronationalist and vote. How do y'all feel about that? Comment your opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Luke825015 (talkcontribs)

Presentation of the President of CELTIC

Good afternoon I am new to this wiki. I am the president of a Uruguayan micronation called CELTIC; I tried to make an article, but I think it went into moderation and I still haven't been able to continue it. Also, I have a hard time making the templates ... I have registered with email and I have already confirmed it. I have put a username and also my real name, to show that my intentions in this wiki are serious. I greet all the members of this community and I hope they will moderate the CELTIC page soon, so I can continue contributing. Sincerely, --Lord Stob-- — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lord Stob (talkcontribs)

Hi there. It will take 4 days and ten edits to be able to create/edit pages without moderation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eshaan011 (talkcontribs)

Help please, I’m having some issues

Hello all. I am president of my newfound country Aa Kyusa Republic, Aaron Carter. Does anyone here know how I can create a page of my nation? If anyone could give me an answer that would be greatly appreciated, thank you. :)

How to create an article?

Providentia was founded somewhere the last decade and is not (yet) independent from Switzerland and neither a federal part. It strives the independence from the Canton of Aargau to become a canton itself, the 27th of Switzerland. It has currently no papers or publications, but the coat of arms is in progress. The motto is "Non deciperis, te decipis ipse." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Didone (talkcontribs)

User report

Hey adminstration. I think I'm doing the right thing by making a report here (please correct me if I'm wrong) Anyways I would like to report the user Micronationofduckionary. This user keeps deleting factual information on the Grand Micronation Alliance wiki page. As the founder of the former organization I really don't appreciate his repeated deletion of the last segment of the body text of the wiki page. It would be great if there was someway of stopping the user from doing this as I would like to preserve the history of the organization. It would be great if you could help me out. This user is attempting to cover up there own past actions. Thanks for your possible help Posloe (Zachary of Elba) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Posloe (talkcontribs)

Requested Block

Requesting block on User:YYZKristi86, who created the page Different Types Of Plumbing Connectors and links to a company website. This is clearly self-promotion and the nature of the username means it is problably randomized. I nominated the article for speedy deletion as MicroWiki is clearly not a web host, and now am requesting the account should be blocked. Thanks! Any Help?

I have 2 questions:

1: Are we supposed to be deleting the discussions on this page that aren't in use?

2: Can someone send me a list of Infobox terms and what they do? Trying to add to my current page.

Mrdudeguy(Talk)

Hello @Mrdudeguy:, no we do not delete the discussions on this page. They will eventually be archived by admins. The infobox terms are just different things relating to your nation which you can find in the template documentation. User:Devinpurcell (talk) 19:00, 15 February 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Thank you for your help! Could you include a link to template documentation?

How to Delete a Page?

When I first started on Microwiki, I started a page, then, I started another Page for my Nation, the Kingdom of Mdesk, because the name was outdated. Can anyone tell me how to delete a article/page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dyaz34 (talkcontribs)

Hey there. May I advise that you don’t delete your old page, but instead link it to your new page, whether a redirect or links throughout the article’s text. If you really need it deleted, you can contact an administrator about that. Account deletion request

Bonjour. Due to a disagreement with the MicroWiki Discord guild's administration, who I must assume are closely affiliated with the Wiki itself, I should like for my account to be blocked through the Mediawiki software, and ideally deleted altogether, as if it never existed. Ellenor et al Bjornsdottir, on behalf of the Republic of Evdonia, signing off. Ellenor2000 (talk) 16:53, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Ellenor2000: Hello! Unfortunately, that is not possible. I request that we discuss more about the matter on Discord. Feel free to message me! (Ștefan Snagoveanu#3949) StefanSNG (talk) 18:11, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Ellenor2000: Seems like Stefan beat me to the response. A disagreement should not make you want to delete your account. If you are referring to the Editor's Guild, which I am a part of, it is not affiliated with the MicroWiki administration team. Make some more edits and keep at it. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 18:17, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Devinpurcell: It's about the Discord chatroom which Stefan is part of the moderation team for, just so that's clear. I'm sorry if my language is a bit confusing; I stubbornly refuse to use the term server for Discord guilds because I know what a server looks like and that ain't it. In any event, I reiterate my demand that my account be deleted altogether, as if it never existed. Furthermore, I release every contribution I have ever made to the Wiki into the public domain, or if that is legally impossible in the macronation of Microwiki's domicile, I release a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevokable, worldwide licence to the Wiki to use it however they should like, including modification, destruction, and reproduction. You have no excuse to keep my account. Ellenor2000 (talk) 20:07, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

How do you differentiate between actuality and fiction here?

Hello, I just joined this wiki (primarily so I can ask this question). As my username might allude, I have interests in Yugoslavia. There is this theme park in Subotica, a village in Serbia that goes by the names of "Mini Yugoslavia" and "Yugoland" which conventionally refers to itself as "the smallest country in the world" that I thought ought to be documented without any added fiction. Several sources exist to write a purely non-fictional article, however I fear, not nearly enough for Wikipedia. I've never been on this wiki, so I'm completely new to it. So yeah, question in the section title. Cheers, Yugo (talk) 13:24, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

@Yugo: Hello! Your question is inherently very complex, but I'll try to break it down for you. Here is a helpful excerpt from a book I am writing on micronationalism. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out on my talk page.
"Geographer Dallen Timothy categorizes various states and micronations by four categories on a spectrum of recognition (Timothy, 2003). At one end of Timothy’s spectrum are sovereign, internationally recognized non-state entities, that, while they do not meet the criteria for statehood under international law (Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States, 1933), are formally recognized by at least one other state as a de jure sovereign establishment. This category includes the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, a sovereign state founded in 1048 that currently maintains no jurisdiction over any of its former territories in Malta, Cyprus, and Rhodes, and its physical territory is confined to two buildings in Rome. Nonetheless, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta holds official diplomatic relations with 107 states, reserves a permanent UN observer status, and issues passports and currency (Karski, 2012).
Timothy’s second category is what he describes as 'semi-legitimate places'. These entities have historical foundations to claim their independence, however, in contrast to his first category, they have not been formally accepted as a state by other sovereign nations. Timothy identifies the Republic of Somaliland, a breakaway state from Somalia since 1991, that claims to be a continuation of the State of Somaliland, under this category (Stafford & Collenette, 1931).
Timothy’s last two categories are the most commonly referred to as micronations. His third category entails states that have little to no historical legitimacy for statehood but have regardless 'earnestly attempted to lay claim to national independence.' (Timothy, 2003, p. 94) Included are some of the most well-known micronations such as the Principality of Sealand, off the southern coast of the United Kingdom. Lastly, his fourth category encompasses those that contain nothing more than the residential property purchased by the owner and have declared independence whether in an attempt to gain legitimacy or functioning as what Timothy describes as “social clubs”. Included in this designation are some of the most recognized micronations by macronational media and to some extent government, the Republic of Molossia, and the Empire of Austenasia (Staff, 2011)."
Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 14:38, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks, this is a helpful insight into micronations, and Yugoland would fall under fourth category. However, my question is whether and how MicroWiki distinguishes articles with fictional history and facts from those without fiction. For example, New Yugoslavia Voivodeship is completely made-up (without intention to make it seem as a bad thing), whereas Yugoland is not. That is to say, its article would not cover any fiction about it. Yugo (talk) 15:42, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Yugo: Articles marked with Template:Fantasy are of fictional nations, where people, territories, and government may be entirely fabricated and outlandish, for example, if a micronation claimed to own all of the United States and have one billion citizens. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 18:10, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Devinpurcell: is there a notice template for stating the opposite? Or is that the default assumption where {{Fantasy}} is not present? Yugo (talk) 20:03, 9 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
@Yugo: It is the default assumption. Devinpurcell (talk) (contribs) 17:01, 10 March 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The Draft Page Thing

Hi, i created a page for my micronation but it's a draft. How do i get it to not be a draft?

Infoboxes aligning left instead of right?

Hey all,

I've noticed many infoboxes, including Infobox country and Infobox monarchy, are showing up aligned to the left rather than to the right of the page. Instead of being on the right, with text on the left, the infoboxes instead are on the left and leave no room for text to wrap around them. Is this just an issue on my end? If not, could this be fixed?

Much appreciated,

--Gishabrun (talk) 23:04, 8 June 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Is Donetsk People's Republic a micronation?

So.. I am pretty confused by DPR's status since 2014. It has territory, people, other things, but is not recognized by almost everyone and is a breakaway state of Ukraine. I'm asking this due to my micronation getting independent from it, and IDK whether that is one.
PG (talk) 13:25, 22 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

No, it is an unrecognized country, like Abkhazia. It was formally a federal subject, (specifically a republic.) of Russia, and even before a Ukranian oblast. MarkyPolskiLovesMicroWiki! (talk) 13:03, 16 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Phone number to text MicroWiki privately?

(Backstory.) Once I realized my email sent to MicroWiki was not recieved, (BECAUSE OF AN ADDRESS!?!?!?!) [extremely frustrated.] I needed to somehow notify MicroWiki about my email address. If I do it here, probably everyone will see it. (The notification from the Mail Deivery Subsystem reads: "Your message wasn't delivered to MicroWiki because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.")

(Main.) And, MicroWiki does not want to share its address publicly, and I do not want to share my email address MicroWiki. (But, there could be a chance that MicroWiki is unable to recieve notifications.) So, if this is the true MicroWiki, please, try to find a way for us to text privately. Thank you so much, MicroWiki!!!!

Can you copy and paste things from other websites?

(Backstory.) So, I was making my coat of arms on Google Slides of a micronation, and I wanted to copy and paste it to the article about it. But, if you know screenshots, you cannot screenshot something that is not a rectangle or a square without a background that is not transparent. And, you need to screenshot something in order to upload it onto your article.

(Main.) So, is there any sort of way, without screenshoting, getting stuff from, for example Google Slides, to MicroWiki without failing? Please let me know, and if not, treat this message like feedback to add in a future update or something.

Extreme Weird Table Confusion.

(Backstory.) So, when I insert a table, something extremely weird happens. When I insert it into my article, it always spawns on the left, (I do not know how to move it to the right.) and not only that: but when I add text, the table keeps on moving down and down.

(Main.) So, if anyone can please help me, (if you even can.) tell me if not, (if no, then treat this like feedback.) and if yes, tell me how.
