Elected Council Minister

William Vladiskov
Royal Socialists

First Election

Since the creation of Valdieuria (December 17th 2017) No elections were held. The monarchy then instated a council that functioned similarly to a parliament and proceeded to call closely monitored elections. Each party was required to pledge loyalty to the crown and have "Royal" in their official titles.

Media

There was no media on this election, as the monarchy suggested it would cause public uproar. As a result information on this election is very sparse.

Candidates

Only two parties registered under the very strict regulations set out by the government. The Royal Socialists ran on a platform of a socialist economy, as well as more power to the government. While the Royal Democrats called for democratic reform aswell as protection of human rights.

William Vladiskov

Vladiskov was the head monarch of Valdieuria and out of fear for a loss in power due to democracy, decided to run as his own candidate. Vladiskov was a left wing authoritarian and at the time supported monarchy as a means to remain in power.

Ryan Knight

Ryan Knight was a friend to William Vladiskov and was hand-picked by the monarch to run against him. The monarch gave Knight the platform of democratic reform to oppose Vladiskovs authoritarian rhetoric.

Controversy

As the first election to the country of Valdieuria took place, it became public knowledge that it was a simulation of an election and not a fair election itself. Only Vladiskovs family members and close allies were able to vote, furthermore Vladiskov created his own opposition to loose to proove his popularity. This Election was the first of many in Valdieurian History to be rigged by the government and leadership.
