The 2023 Marienbourgish first general election was the first election held in Marienbourg. It took place between 1 and 8 February 2023 to elect 6 of the then 8 members of the Ducal Diet and the result was announced and took effect on February 9. The election had eight candidates. Both the Popular Party and the Democratic Union won 3 seats each, and the two unelected remaining were appointed to take seats by the Sovereign. As they were members of the Popular Party, this gave the party a 5-seat majority in the chamber and allowed them to form a government.

Although the Popular Party has a parliamentary majority, its leader Gustave Lynch is not a member of parliament. Nevertheless he was appointed Minister-President and appointed the members of the Council of Ministers, of which only the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Victor Braz, is a member of the Diet.

Voting

The election took place online through the Google Docs platform. E-mails were sent to all citizens containing a link to a voting page on which each citizen could cast a total of four votes for their candidate(s), who were presented by photo, name and political affiliation. The election had a turnout of 57% of registered voters, i.e., 14 out of the 26 voters.
