Alqamar District (Malay: Daerah Alqamar) is a District of the Qintiistan Darussalam based in East London.

Etymology

The etymology of "Alqamar District" originates from Arabic. "Alqamar" (القمر) translates to "the moon" in English. In many Arabic-speaking regions, "Alqamar" is a common term and is often used in names of places, districts, or neighborhoods.

Agriculture

Alqamar District is primarily characterized by its agricultural activities. The fertile lands of the district are utilized for various agricultural purposes, including the cultivation of crops such as rice, wheat, and vegetables. Additionally, the district is known for its orchards, where fruits such as oranges, mangoes, and dates are grown. Agriculture plays a vital role in the local economy, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the food supply chain of the region.

Qintiistan Civil War

During the tumultuous period of the Qintiistan Civil War, Alqamar District remained under the control of Dominion forces. Despite there being a separatist movement for Alqamar (Alqamar Liberation Army), the district maintained relative stability under the governance of the Dominion. The presence of Dominion forces ensured security and order in the district, allowing agricultural activities to continue uninterrupted.
