Atreus
Atreus is a 16 year old micronationalist from the state of Ohio, in the United States. His micronational career is extensive, though he didn't always let that be known. He is known under his alias, due to past tensions he has had with micronational figures. However, he decided to make a comeback in micronationalism, saying "I know that what I did in the past was wrong, and it hurt people. But I have changed as a person, I have realized what I did wrong. But I understand that people's feelings towards me may still be negative, as it's hard to believe someone changed so fast. So I must operate under an alias until I can prove to those individuals that I am not who I was."[b]
Atreus was inspired by a fellow micronationalist in his area. He formerly cited that person to be the late D of the Confederation of Davonia, but that was recently said to be false.[c]

Micronational Career
Despite his attempts to ensure his micronational history is kept private, it is still important to discuss Atreus's history in micronationalism.
Atreus's micronational career started sometime in 2022, with the first iteration of his micronation at the time. At the time, he identified as transgender, and the micronation was named after his preferred name at the time. This micronation went through many iterations, going from an anarchist state, to a kingdom, to an empire, to a republic. That empire collapsed at one point, but was brough back eventually.
During the time of the second empire and republic, his first micronation was at its peak. He had recently started expanding its foreign policy, legislation, and department of education. However, his micronation's success quickly came to a halt. At some point in the later days of this micronation, Atreus had a falling out with his main inspiration for micronationalism. During an interview with a member of his party, he had this to say, "Looking back, the falling out was 100% on me. I started the argument, then I kept it going when it was realistically done. Then, even though I had the slightest opportunity to fix things, I didn't. I chose pettiness over my friendship, and micronationalism."
After the fall of this micronation, Atreus went into a depression. Micronationalism was all he had, and he struggled without it. So, when he found out that his friend, D of Davonia, was joining the micronationalism scene, he jumped at the opportunity to help. However, due to D's unprofessional behavior, and refusal to work with other people, this partnership was short lived. Between the founding of the Confederation of Davonia, and the removal of Atreus from Davonian politics, only 36 days passed. After Atreus was removed from Davonian politics, he quickly started assembling a team of people he thought would be reliable. This team, consisting of the other two co-signers of the declaration of independence, started protests and attempted to make change in Davonia. Seeing this not work, they resorted to what Atreus promised he would never do again, start a micronation.
Atreus quickly began drafting a declaration of independence and constitution. The first draft of the declaration was quickly accepted by the co-signers, and the Republic of Millius became an official nation. However, there was much more controversy surrounding the constitution. However, after some time of deliberation and rewrites, a draft was eventually accepted.
Now, Atreus is proud of his micronational career. He has achieved a micronation larger than he ever had in the past, has a stronger structure of government, and all around, has achieved a lot more than he ever did before.
Atreus has plans to expand his micronation's foreign policy, which he has already began, through making the policies surrounding foreign policy more in-depth. He claims he wants to expand his foreign policy to other micronations in his area, possibly making connections with micronations he formerly worked with under his earlier career.
Citizenship
Atreus currently holds citizenship in two nations. Those nations are the United States of America, and the Republic of Millius. He also held citizenship in the Confederation of Davonia before its collapse on 11 November 2023.
United States of America
Atreus was awarded citizenship of the United States due to his birth. He is an American citizen by birth.
Republic of Millius
Atreus was awarded citizenship of Millius by signing the declaration of independence. He will continue to hold this citizenship for the foreseeable future.
Early Life and Childhood
Birth and Infanthood
Atreus was born in Ohio, in the United States, to his parents, who he only refers to online as "M" and "T." He was the fourth child from his father, and the second from his mother. He spent an undisclosed amount of time in the neonatal intensive care unit due to complications at birth.
Early Childhood
Atreus was unlike most other children in his neighborhood, and preferred video games and books over going outside. This caused him to be made fun of, but he didn't let it get to him. It instead encouraged him to be better than all of his bullies. Even now, he just lays in bed and read books most days.
Atreus came from a troubled family, with his grandparents being divorced, with his grandmother remarried, and his grandfather moving to Florida. His parents were also never married, and broke up shortly after his birth. This caused him to frequently move and stay at other people's houses. Most nights throughout his childhood, you'd be able to find Atreus at either his grandmother's house or staying with a friend.
Atreus started writing at the age of eight. He had a wild and huge imagination, which he decided to use creatively by writing full length books and songs. This led him to have a passion for writing that has lasted since. He has written over 200 poems, 15 songs, one book, and is currently working on a film.
His passion for music started at the age of seven, with his mother giving them an iPad with Spotify on it. He eventually stumbled his way onto one of his mother's playlists and fell in love. For the next few years, he would constantly ask his family for a guitar and microphone for Christmas and his birthday, but he would never get what he wanted, due to his family's financial status. However, this changed when his grandmother was given a huge promotion at work, and bought Atreus a guitar. However, it was too big for him at that age, and he gave up on learning it.
Early Education
Atreus was an incredibly smart child, being ahead of his grade level in both English and math on every benchmark and end of year test. This led him to constantly be praised by teachers and administration, and getting rewarded frequently. He would often times score at a 12th or 11th grade reading level, and usually a 10th, 11th, or 12th grade math level. This led to him taking advanced classes in fifth grade, being moved into a ninth grade history class. And in sixth grade, he was moved to a seventh grade math and English class.
Interests and Extracurriculars
In fifth grade, Atreus joined the Leadership Corps. at his school. This, over the three and a half years he was in the program, led him to learn discipline and how to be a leader. He would give speeches, guide others in life, and assist others in a general sense. This Leadership Corps. even led him to meeting two mayors of his city, and a World War Two veteran.
He also had an interest in being in choir. However, due to his lack of religion, he refused to join any church choir. He, instead, joined his elementary school's[d] choir from kindergarten to fourth grade. He left the choir due to moving schools, and his new school did not have a choir. He stayed at this school until the end of their 10th grade year. His school, in their 10th grade year, implemented a choir, which he joined.
Present Life
Origin of Name
Despite its use in Atreus's micronational career, it is not his real name. According to him, he uses an alias due to doxing within the micronational community, his past in micronationalism, and past actions that were seen as unfavorable by micronationalists he knew. He sites the main reason of his micronational name change being because he is not proud of the person he used to be, therefore does not want to connect his current micronational career with his former micronational career.
Atreus's name comes from part of his name, which is very similar to the name Atreus. For privacy reasons, he has decided to keep this name private.
Academics
Atreus is currently a high school[e] student, and is in his junior year at an arts-focused high school in his city. He is deciding to focus on creative writing and theatre, and has proven to be an overachiever, being a straight A and B student, and even taking some honors classes. He has joined multiple clubs at his school. Those being the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA), Songwriters Club, Culinary Club, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering, and Pokémon (YMP) Club, Roots & Shoots, Thespians, Quiz Bowl, Neurodiverse Support Club (NSC)[f], and Amnesty International. He is the president and founder of his school's Amnesty International club, and is the treasurer for NSC.
However, Atreus is also involved in other extracurriculars that are not clubs. Some of those include a fundraising campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and a program for educating teens about dating violence; sexual assault; and bullying.
Hobbies and Interests
Atreus has many hobbies and interests, and prefers to keep busy. These hobbies include multiple things such as music, writing, acting, photography, and filmmaking. He spends most of his time in their room trying to perfect his craft, but still makes time for other important things like going outside, going to work, going to school, and spending time with loved ones.
Music
He have nine instruments. Four guitars, two ukuleles, two keyboards, and a violin. He has been teaching himself guitar since May of 2022, ukulele since July of 2022, and keyboard since July of 2023. He has also stated that he wishes to learn violin, but will wait until he knows more on the other three instruments he is learning.
He also writes music. He has written nearly 30 songs. He has posted one of these original songs on TikTok, before quickly deleting it out of fear that people would not like it. However, he has since posted many of his original songs on TikTok, but has also deleted those. However, he is currently in the process of recording an album, titled Complications With Love. He plans to have the album released sometime between November and December of 2024.
Writing
Atreus loves to write, and has written many poems, stories, and multiple other projects. He is currently a co-writer for a short animated series, and is in the process of writing the script for a short film he plans on making.
Acting
Atreus has acted in two short films, and has voice acted in three animated series. In one of these series, he plays a main character. He has chosen to keep two of these animated series private, as they are smaller projects, with more unique names; making them more likely to be found online.

Atreus has also auditioned for theatrical productions. Having only gotten into theatre recently, he has only auditioned for two productions. He was given one of these parts, and was given a callback for another. The part he got was Connor Murphy in his old school's production of Dear Evan Hansen. The part he was given a callback for, but not awarded the part, was Henry Saunders in Lend Me A Tenor. Atreus also auditioned for his school's acting classes, and jumped from Theatre Arts 1, the entry level theatre class for high school, to Intermediate Acting, a somewhat advanced acting class.
Atreus's school is putting on a production of Chicago, a musical, for the fall production. He plans to audition for multiple parts in the show.
Photography
Atreus got involved in photography after being inspired by his papa, who is a political, bird, and street photographer. Atreus considers himself a political and street photographer, having mostly photographed for protests and parades. He has also been a model for photographers in his school's Photography 1 class. He plans on getting involved in modeling at some point during college.
Future in Life and Micronationalism
Education & College
High School
As a junior in high school, Atreus still has one more year in his high school career. He plans to take as many college courses as he can in his senior year, to get some prerequisites out of the way, as well as to take some classes out of his schedule.
Atreus's plans for his senior year are to take Psychology, Philosophy, English, and Math through college courses, and take Humanities, Business, Spanish 2, Study Hall, Video Production, Beginner Percussion, and either Yearbook or Intermediate Acting.
College
Atreus's plans for college are extensive. He plans on double majoring out of high school in Psychology and Teaching, eventually getting his master's, and later on a Ph.D. in both. He also plans on getting master's degrees in Philosophy, Anthropology, and Social Work. As well as bachelor's in Arabic, Spanish, and French.
Atreus plans on going to community college for two years after graduating high school, then moving to Colorado for college with a friend.
Post-College Plans
Atreus plans on being a teacher, while also running a nonprofit. He also hopes to run for either mayor or city council in his city. He has also stated that, later in life, he plans on opening his own school, should he have the funds.
Future in Micronationalism
As of now, Atreus has said he doesn't know where his micronational career is going to go. He has stated that he has conflicts between wanting to be serious about micronationalism; and his careers as a teacher, nonprofit administrator, and politician. However, Atreus has stated that if he can find a way to stay out of the public view while involved in micronationalism, he will stick with it, as it would not risk jobs or unpopularity as a politician. He has stated that he plans to see Millius to success until he feels it is at a place of prosperity, then passing it off to someone else, by resigning from his position during an election year.
Politics
Atreus is a fairly progressive person politically, with his political compass being on the bottom left. He self identifies as independent, and not aligning with any specific ideology, but does self identify as following the Green Party of the United States and the Democratic Party of the United States. However, he started his own political party in his micronation, the Republic of Millius, the Millia Green Party. He also formed a political party in Davonia, the Davonian Green Party. The Davonian Green Party was dissolved along with the nation of Davonia.
However, he did not always align with these ideals, formerly aligning more with the right side of the political spectrum, and more specifically, some of the more right leaning parties in the United States. The specific parties that he aligned with were the Republican Party of the United States, and the Constitution Party of the United States.
Atreus's political ideas are fairly controversial among people he has discussed politics with. Most say he is "too far left." His ideas include eliminating the ability for political parties and ideologies to have a chokehold on politics, increasing minimum wage, free healthcare, free college, an improved education system, complete legalization of marijuana, among others. He has been criticized by political opponents for "not understanding how governments function." Atreus believes that, while his ideas are controversial, they are necessary for an improved society.
