The United Federation Army (UFA), sometimes referred to as the UF Army, is the land service branch of the United Federation Armed Forces. It is designated as the army of the United Federation by the Constitution of Aumarea. It is the oldest branch of the UF military, as well as the most senior - ranking first in the order of precedence.

The army is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defence. The President and Minister of Defence both act as civilian commanders, with the Chief of Army Staff serving as the chief military officer of the branch, who is also a member of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.

As a branch of the armed forces, the mission of the UF Army is to fight and win Aumarea's wars and serve in operations concerning the defence of the United Federation and the promotion of national interests.

History

The UF Army is the oldest branch of the Aumarean military. It was the first branch to be established, its foundation dating back to when it was de facto established 19 March 2023.

The army was named within the text of the Constitution of Aumarea, with the constitution permitting the federal government to establish and maintain an army and a navy - which lead to the establishment of the UF Army.

Mission

The United Federation of Aumarea serves as the land branch of the UF Armed Forces. The role of the army is typically described as:

  • Preserving Peace and Security for the United Federation
  • Providing Defence for the United Federation
  • Supporting National Policies and Values
  • Implementing National Objectives
  • Overcoming Nations Responsible for Aggressive Acts that Imperil the Peace and Security of the United Federation

Organisation

Structure

The UF Army is made up of three components - the Regular Army, the Army Reserve and the Army National Guard. The Chief of Army, who is the highest-ranked military officer in the army, serves as the principal military adviser and executive agent from the Army, its service chief; and as a member of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.

Personnel

UF Army personal are split into two distinct rank categories - officers, who hold commissions, and enlisted.

The primary path to becoming a commissioned officer is by passing through the army's Officer Candidate School and earning a commission by successfully completing the commissioning course offered. However, officers can also earn a direct commission. Regardless of which road an officer takes, the insignia are the same.

Army regulations call for addressing all personnel with the rank of general as "General (last name)" regardless of the number of stars. Likewise, both colonels and lieutenant colonels are addressed as "Colonel (last name)" and first and second lieutenants as "Lieutenant (last name)".

While the ranks of General of the Armies and General of the Army are not often awarded, they are still maintained by the army.
