Balneário Camboriú is the capital of Camboriu

The city, with its steep hills that fall down to the sea, is popular with South Americans. The main waterfront avenue is Atlantic Avenue and its famous cable car connects the city's central beach to Laranjeiras beach. It borders the Kingdom of Ilha das Cabras , which lies inside its bay, giving tourists a beautiful landscape and the crossings to the beach near Laranjeiras occur on board ships similar to the 17th century pirate vessels, which give back to the island before returning to Balneário Camboriú again.

The city also has a statue similar to Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro , called "Christ of Light", but with some differences: it is slightly smaller than the Redeemer and depicts Jesus with one with a circle on his left shoulder, symbolizing the Sun, which it houses a searchlight that shines for the whole city.
