The Co-principality of Kappan was a temporary splinter state of the Holy Empire of the Kappa. After its defeat in the Kappan Civil War, its principal leader, Fernan, was exiled from the Empire.

Founding

The Co-principality of Kappan was formed 5 July 2022 by Fernan and Dawson, two members of the Holy Empire of the Kappa. No other members of the Kappan Empire joined the Co-principality.

Kappan Civil War

Pre-conflict

Before making its existence known, the Co-principality contacted Salanda and requested help in the upcoming war. Salanda's leader agreed to help the Co-principality with developing the nation, but Fernan misinterpreted this as agreeing to ally with the Co-principality. With this evidence, Fernan convinced Saul, leader of the Intercontinental Republic of the Americas, to ally with the Co-principality.

Attempted diplomacy

Fernan attempted to convince James I, leader of the Holy Empire of the Kappa, to install Fernan as the ruler of the Empire, but James denied these requests. Fernan was banned from the Empire's Discord server, further angering him. James contacted Jake, the leader of ValeVRG, to gain his support, forming the United Coalition.

Declaration of war

The Holy Empire of the Kappa declared war on the Co-principality of Kappan, followed quickly by ValeVRG. Fernan attempted to avoid the war, offering that he would dissolve the state if he was given a high-level position within the Empire's government. His request was denied. Around this point in time, the Salanda-Co-principality alliance issue was resolved, and both ICROTA and Salanda joined the United Coalition. The other prince of the Co-principality left the rebellion, leaving Fernan's rebellion as a one-man state.

Conflict

Faced with four micronations with over three hundred members, Fernan quickly crumbled. The Co-principality offered several terms of surrender, but the only option put forward by the United Coalition was unconditional surrender. After a day, Fernan began to offer surrender terms that allowed the Co-principality to continue to exist, but they were also denied by the United Coalition. Finally, 26 hours into the conflict, the Co-principality of Kappan surrendered unconditionally.

Surrender and dissolving

The Co-principality was dissolved after its surrender. The surrender agreement can be found here.

Post-conflict

Fernan's other micronation, the Republic of the Corriente, was ejected from the Valentia Pact and collapsed. Fernan ended up leaving micronationalism as a whole. The United Coalition dissolved after the war.
