The Democratic Discord Republic (DDR) is an online micronation that was founded on July 20th, 2019 by Discord user Nick1627F#9107. The micronation operates under a mock government type Discord server. The DDR contains six states: California, Florida, Michigan, New York, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Each state is composed of districts with a maximum capacity of five members. Each district elects one representative. Each state elects two senators. During national presidential elections, the DDR functions under an electoral college. Each state is worth three electoral points, plus one point for every additional district. The current president is JavierKase [R] who was appointed upon the assassination of the previous president, user Juan Lawnman [R]. JavierKase [R] has served since Thanksgiving day of 2019. The server is home to relaxed chatter, intense political debate, and everflowing text channels. The Democratic Discord Republic operates as an independent nation affixed to the United States, sharing the constitution and its amendments. This wiki page will contain all information about legislation, elections, rules, notorious members, and more.

Government

The Democratic Discord Republic system of government is based on the United States of America. The DDR has a four section government, consisting of the Legislative, Executive, Judicial, and Administrative branches respectively. Each branch has their own unique roles, channels, and responsibilities. The Administrative branch was created in November 2019.

The Democratic Discord Republic has a bicameral legislature including of a Senate and a House of Representatives, when referring to all to both chambers we call them Congress. As of the 2020 January elections, we have a Republican Congress and a Republican president (JavierKase[R])

The House of Representatives

The house of Representatives is the lower chamber of the DDR's Bicameral legislature, also called HoR or just simply the House, the amount of representatives varies between the population of the state. For every district there is a representative that the people of the same district will vote on, for every 5 people in a state there is a district.

When introducing a bill, the bill will start in the House of Representatives, the representatives will debate the bill for a certain amount of time chosen by the speaker of the house, the author(s) of the bill can choose to edit the bill if one or more of the representatives doesn't agree on something and/ or wants to add something new to the bill, the unofficial speaker of the house is Soviet Union [D], then the HoR will vote to move on to the voting progress and they will vote on the bill with a simple majority verdict, then the bill will go to the Senate.

The Senate

When the House approves a bill it will be sent to the Senate for further inspection, debate and voting. The Senate is the highest chamber of the DDR's Bicameral Legislature. Every state gets 2 Senators, the vice president or VP is in charge of choosing the time to debate and then vote the bill.

When the bill is brought to the Senate, The Senators will debate the for a certain amount of time chosen by the VP, then the Senate will make a vote to move on to the voting progress and proceed to vote on the bill with a simple majority verdict, then the bill will go to the president to sign the bill into action.

The Governors

Although we only have one active governor which is Zeflyingdonut[R] representing Pennsylvania, the job of a governor is to manage the districts of the states, every state has one governor and they are apart of the legislative branch.

One of the powers that the governors get is doing special elections, special elections are elections planned by the governors or president that are usually for one district or for only one state; usually elections are planned by the owner, few members on Congress, the president and/or vice president, Special elections are reserved for seats that are empty and someone is willing to run for that seat.

Political parties and presidential history

Political parties

In the DDR we have a two-party system that replicates the American party system, in total, we have the Republican party, Democrat party, Green party, Libertarian party and just independent.

Presidential history

With only two people having been president, one has been "assassinated" (inactive to the point of VP taking over) marked with the star (*) symbol, although we don't know why JuanTheLawn became inactive we like to speculate on what happened to him, he is still on the DDR but never active.
