The Democratic Republic of Lafitau, often referred to as Lafitau, is a micronation in Northern New York, nestled into the Adirondack Mountains.
Lafitau was created by President WDS, with the intention of a peaceful place, for all to enjoy, with ones own freedom, but with the government's law and order, life in Lafitau is calm and quiet. The namesake of Lafitau comes from Joseph-François Lafitau, a French missionary, who named the Adirondack Region.
Lafitau has a Democratic government, that serves the purpose of protecting its citizens freedoms and individual rights.
Lafitau shares its borders with the State of New York, and remains to be allied.
