Structure
Leadership: Head of the Department (Minister or Secretary) and supporting roles. Policy and Planning: Formulates policies and strategies related to the digital economy, technology, and societal impact. Digital Economy Development: Initiatives to promote the growth and competitiveness of the digital economy, support digital businesses, and foster innovation. E-Government Services: Implements digital solutions to enhance government services, improve efficiency, and promote citizen engagement. Internet Governance: Oversees issues related to internet governance, domain management, and policies governing the use of the internet within the jurisdiction. Digital Infrastructure: Plans and implements strategies for the development of digital infrastructure, including broadband networks, to ensure widespread access to high-speed internet. Digital Literacy: Promotes digital literacy initiatives to empower citizens with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the digital world and participate in the digital economy. Data Protection and Privacy: Develops and enforces regulations related to the protection of personal data and privacy in the digital age. Cybersecurity: Formulates policies and strategies to enhance cybersecurity, protect critical infrastructure, and combat cyber threats. Telecommunications Regulation: Oversees and regulates the telecommunications sector to ensure fair competition, quality of service, and the deployment of advanced communication technologies. E-commerce and Digital Trade: Facilitates and regulates electronic commerce, online transactions, and cross-border digital trade. Innovation and Research: Supports research and development in digital technologies, fosters innovation, and promotes the adoption of emerging technologies.
