Aynvallic people

The Aynvauls are a people predominantly [ethnic Irish] that reside in lower New York and Long Island. As a subethnicity of [Irish-Americans], there is more overlap between the two than distinction. However demonym is used in a more regionally exclusive context with the term "Naish" being preferred as a blanket term for Irish-Americans in general by individuals that have adopted the Aynvaul identity. The appearance of the term stems largely from pressures for a distinct demonym for Irish-Americans which, as a whole, have diverged from Irish traditions in Ireland to an extent with their Irishness in-general being a controversial topic in Ireland itself. Irish-Americans still however retain a Heritage distinct from common American culture, leaving room for the argument that they are neither entirely Irish nor entirely American but something their own. Aynvauls today, like with other Irish American groups, are descendants from immigrants who moved into the US and Canada during the 19th and 20th centuries.[9] Currently, there are about 36 million ethnic Irish who reside in the United States, of that 36 million Aynvauls would barely constitute 1 million at even the most liberal and generous estimates based around the US census(2020).
