Prospere, officially the County of Prospere, is a self-proclaimed sovereign state, commonly referred to as a micronation by external observers. The state consists of one county, Prospere, which is also its capital. Prospere claims a small territory located geographically within Great Britain, having declared independence from the United Kingdom on 21 December 2023.

The state is governed by the Count of Prospere, who holds absolute power. He is advised by the High Council of Prospere, which is led by the Viscount.

Etymology

Derived from prospere, an Interlingua word meaning 'prosperous'.

History

Politics and government

As Prospere is an absolute monarchy, complete control over the executive, legislative and judiciary is held by the Count of Prospere, Mateo I. The Count is then advised by the High Council, a board of political advisors each representing a different ministry of the government. The head of the High Council is the Viscount of Prospere, who oversees any decisions made by it and presents them to the Count.

Prospere is located close to the banks of the River Adur, in southern Britain. It has an Oceanic climate and mild, wet winters with short, hot summers.
