In 1978, the father of the Great-Grand Hootie immigration from Aidion, Magnesia, Greece to Washington, DC and eventually Columbia. After years sitting at his fathers feet hearing stories of the old country, the Hootie founded New Aydin, itself commemorating Aidinion, founded by former occupants of Aydin, Turkey.

FUN, The Federation of Utopian Nations, has grown to include New Aydin, Prima Vista, Nomainsland, The Rose Hill District, The Consolidated Republic of Goat Island, Laria, The People's Kingdom of Five Points and Wikistan. Prima Vista is the fundraising arm of Stan's charity-focused coalition of constituent micronation and collaborates chiefly with Nomainsland over outreach to the intentionally and unintentionally homeless of Columbia. Newer members of FUN include Nomainsland, a punk wasteland located on North Main and Laria, a community of mutual support for people with Bipolar Disorder. Nomainsland is attracting lots of people. Intentional vagrancy is welcome.There are lots of friendly pop-up villages with PVC construction and some bamboo. The City State District of Rose Hill is also a provisional member. Laria, located near Pickens and Blossom, is a one street neighborhood apart and a model neighborhood for Stan. Wikistan is a collectivist republic situated within Sequoia Tower, WikiHouse's most ambitious project. It contains RepRap Colossus--A 100:1 scaled version of the RepRap 3D printer which is used to expand its concrete exterior upward. It serves as a port of entry for new arrivals. It functions like the old ethnic ghettoes and tenements of New York with lots of second-hand clothes and furniture, sharing and collaboration and a high population density. Starship Menterprise is a rolling masculist ark on Assembly Street. The Bohemian Goat, modeled loosely after the Bohemian Grove, is a yearly camping trip on the night of January 1st at Goat Island, Lake Murray, featuring a goat picking and hosted by Poly Energy for staff and friends. Meetup is a planned source of additional membership. Recently, Goat Island inspired an offshoot, the Pykrete Seasteaders of Lake Murray. Laria maintains embassies to both the North and South Poles.
