The Symbol often tied with a Psetocracy. It depicts Psi, the 23rd letter of the Greek Alphabet.

A Psetocracy, also known as The Fifth Power Dictatorship or Five Man Dictatorship, is a unique form of government in which a quintet of individuals hold absolute political power and legitimacy. This type of government is often associated with totalitarianism[1], where individual freedoms are restricted and the state holds complete control over the lives of its citizens.

The Commonwealth of Transostulia[2] is considered to be the only and first example of a Psetocracy in modern times. However, the origins of this form of government can be traced back to ancient civilizations, where a small group of elites held immense power and influence over the masses.

In a Psetocracy, the five individuals who hold power are referred to as the Psetocrats. They are selected through a complex and secretive process, and their rule is absolute, with no checks or balances in place to limit their authority. The Psetocrats hold complete control over the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government, and they are responsible for making all decisions affecting the nation.

Etymology

The name "Psetocracy" is derived from two distinct linguistic roots, one from the Ostulian language and the other from Greek. "Pseto" is a word of Ostulian origin, meaning "fifth". This component of the name reflects the quintet of individuals who hold power and rule in this form of government.

The second component of the name, "Cracy", is derived from the Greek word "kratia", meaning "power, rule, or government". The combination of these two words creates a term that accurately reflects the essence of the Psetocracy, as a form of government in which five individuals hold absolute power and rule over the nation.

History

The history of the Psetocracy as a form of government is a relatively short and limited one, with its sole example being found in the Commonwealth of Transostulia. However, despite its limited historical use, the impact of this form of government on the Commonwealth of Transostulia and its citizens has been significant and far-reaching.

Characteristics and Roles

Psetocracies are often Statocratic and Autocratic.
