Fravoslavia, in long form as Federal Republic of Fravoslavia since February 21, 2023, is a micronation located in the northern part of the city of Tours, France. It is therefore an enclave in French territory, which has no rivers, lakes or seafront.

Fravoslavia is a federal constitutional republic with a semi–presidential system. Its capital is Bordiers, and the official language is French, since May 13, 2021. As of February 21, 2023, the population of Fravoslavia is around 500.

Since its founding on April 21, 2021, the micronation has mutated many times, often changing identity, government, and form of state. The current micronation has only existed since February 21, 2023, the date of its rebirth, after a year 2022 filled with wars, alliances, changes of territories, losses or gains of territories, betrayals, etc.

Since March 2, 2023, Fravoslavia has relaunched itself in its foreign policy by founding the New Francophone Union (NFU), whose aim is the economic development of the French–speaking micronational world, solidarity and mutual aid between French–speakers, the creation of projects and of common summits, as well as the prevention of conflicts, and the creation of a bloc against possible threats, by means of a common army.

Etymology

The origin of the micronation's name comes from the Serbian word "pravoslavan", which means "Orthodox", in reference to the state religion of Orthodox Christianity. The French identity is added in the "fra" prefix, which gives "Fravoslavia".

History

A building micronation (20 April – 5 August 2021)

It was the current President of the Republic, Adrien Hugé, who launched the project to found a micronation on March 30, 2021. On that day, the idea of giving independence to a territory appeared. At the time it was not at all the current territory, but a river island on the Loire, the river that crosses the city of Tours, in France. On March 31, the first flag designs are made, but they are not very convincing.

It was finally on April 20, 2021 that the original micronation, the River Confederation, was founded. The flag is officially adopted on April 22. The territory then claimed is the island of the Loire, but also several woods and fields around the residence of the President. However, the first flag of the micronation will not last long because it is replaced by a new one on May 13, 2021, the date also on which French becomes the official language of the micronation.

On May 14, the Fluvial Confederation begins its foreign policy, by organizing discussions and signing bilateral recognition treaties with many micronations, in particular the Republic of Toubak, which will become the greatest ally of the micronation, but also the Kingdom of Miminosa, or the Kingdom of Akatea. Thereafter, the four micronations, all French–speaking, will create an economic and military alliance.

The Republic of Fluvetia (5 August – 19 November 2021)

"Gold Fluvetian Month" (5 – 29 August 2021)

The micronation is changing its identity for the first time on August 5, 2021, after almost a month of rumors about a potential regime change. The Republic of Fluvetia is created, and a new flag is adopted the same day. It was on the occasion of the proclamation of this new micronation that the President made two trips outside the Fluvetian territory, to France, first on August 7 in the French Alps, then on August 16 in the town of Royan.

On the same day, August 16, 2021, the President of the Republic Adrien Hugé tried to contact the President of the Republic of Palau, a state recognized by the UN in the Pacific, without success. However, Hugé favors foreign policy over domestic policy, in particular by condemning on August 17 the Taliban regime, which took power in Afghanistan two days earlier.

August 18, 2021 sees the first appearance of a map of the Republic of Fluvetia, and its claimed, but not controlled territory, namely the entire city of Tours and its suburbs. On August 21, a conference on the environment takes place between the Republic of Toubak and the Republic of Fluvetia, the two micronations implementing measures against pollution. On August 25, an embassy of Fluvetia is built in Atlas, the capital of the Republic of Toubak.

Vardonese War (29 August – 5 September 2021)

It was at the end of August that the first diplomatic crisis that the micronation faced took place. Indeed, on August 29, 2021, the Republic of La Vardonie, a micronation that has just fallen into the hands of a neo–Nazi insurrection, sends threats to the Republic of Toubak and the Kingdom of Miminosa, the allies of the Republic of Fluvetia. A warning is issued to La Vardonie, without success. There followed a break in diplomatic relations between the two micronations, then in the evening, a declaration of war by La Vardonie against Toubak and Fluvetia, then against Miminosa.

However, La Vardonie, which is alone, cannot fight against the Alliance, which spreads information that the Republic of La Vardonie is a dangerous micronation. Finally, La Vardonie asked for an armistice and an end to the fighting on September 3, setting out these conditions. These are finally accepted by all the belligerents, and on September 5, the government of La Vardonie is replaced, the latter decides to resume diplomatic relations with the Republic of Fluvetia.

First Migingo War (16 – 30 September 2021)

Communist Insurrection (16 September)

On September 16, 2021, President Hugé came to talk about the micronation in a class at Lycée Paul–Louis Courier, in order to explain how micronations work. However, this resulted, a few hours later, in a communist insurrection in the Republics of Fluvetia and Toubak. Fortunately for the two micronations, they are of little consequence.

First Migingo War (25 – 30 September)

However, the communist insurrection of September 16 shows the communist threat to the Republic of Fluvetia and Toubak. On September 25, 2021, the two micronations cut their diplomatic relations with the Republic of Western Migingo, a communist micronation suspected of having organized the insurrection and above all guilty of ill–treatment against its population. In the evening, the Migingo launched a military operation against Toubak. In response, Fluvetia declares war on Western Migingo. The First Migingo War has just begun.

On September 26, the government of Migingo leaves its capital, the family in power seeks to flee. A party succeeds, but it continues the war, which will end on September 30 after a total surrender of the government of Western Migingo. This war is very trying for all the belligerents, especially the Republic of Fluvetia, which, in less than a month, has participated in two high intensity conflicts.

The Fluvetian crisis (30 September – 19 November 2021)

The wars of August and September destroyed the micronation, whose economy is collapsing. The Republic of Fluvetia falls into crisis, a deep crisis, which sees the government considerably reduce its foreign policy, but also its activity within the micronation, which is gradually sinking.

During the "Fluvetian Golden Month", Adrien Hugé had promised the creation of a currency, which ultimately did not succeed. The Republic of Fluvetia disappears to such an extent that its closest ally, the Republic of Toubak moves away from it.

The Republic of Kahnesia (19 November 2021 – 5 January 2022)

Finally, the Republic of Fluvetia was dissolved on November 19, 2021, after 106 days of existence, one day less than the Fluvial Confederation, which existed for 107 days. On the same day, the Republic of Kahnesia was proclaimed, and the new flag was adopted on November 21.

This republic of Kahnesia did not remain in place for long, however, since it had only 47 days of existence, before its dissolution on January 5, 2022. During its existence, the President of the Republic, Adrien Hugé, was re–elected on November 26.

The Republic of Franslavia (5 January – 23 July 2022)

The storm is approching (5 January – 13 April 2022)

On January 5, 2022, the Republic of Franslavia was proclaimed. The purpose of this micronation is to bring together the Slavs of France. It is the longest existing micronation, with 199 days of existence. This existence begins in particular with, on February 24, the condemnation of the actions of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. In January, Franslavia attempts to create an organization of socialist and communist micronations. Unfortunately, the project does not succeed and causes tensions with a micronation, the Redshanks Communist Union.

From the Russian invasion, tension rises in the micronational world, and the risk of war explodes. On March 28, the Republic of Franslavia decides to order weapons, to prevent a conflict with one or more micronations. The Republic of Toubak coordinates with Franslavia and also orders weapons.

In the first days of April 2022, Franslavia, then Toubak, joined the CSTO, a military organization. It was on this occasion that Franslavia launched its diplomatic relations with the Union of American Socialist Republics (UASR), and the Free Republic of New Orchard. Joining this organization comes at the same time as rising tensions with the Redshanks Communist Union (RCU).

First Micro–World War (13 April – 13 July 2022)

First Redshanks War (13 April – 14 May)

After intense tensions, Franslavian President Adrien Hugé decided to declare war on the Redshanks on April 13, at 5:15 p.m. At 7:20 p.m., the Republic of Toubak enters the war. The war spread very quickly, especially on April 14, with the entry into the war of members of the CSTO, the Tsardom of Malia, the Republic of Prata, and Yigitistan alongside the Redshanks. The First Micro–World War has just begun.

On April 15, the battle of Veretz, then a Franslav territory, begins. On the other side of the world, the UASR triggers a military operation against the Redshanks. But quickly, the war bogged down. Franslavia hardly fends off the Redshanks, while the CSTO is more successful.

Despite the Redshanks' threats, the CSTO is not weakening. On April 20, the Battle of the Woods begins in Franslavia. The battle ended in a Franslavian victory on April 22. Following this battle, no more intervention by the Redshanks will take place. Subsequently, the members of the CSTO put in place measures to bring down the government of the Redshanks. These measures worked, since a pro–UASR government was placed in the Redshanks on May 14, ending the First Redshanks War.

Second Migingo War (16 – 19 April)

Meanwhile, the Republic of Western Migingo, recently allied with the Redshanks, joined the war on April 16, starting the Second Migingo War. However, this conflict was quickly managed by Franslavia and Toubak, who capitulated Western Migingo on April 19, 2022, annihilating Migingo and causing its final dissolution.

Tartesia War (20 – 26 June)

The third important conflict of this micro–world war is the War of Tartesia. Indeed, on June 20, 2022, Franslavia joined the CSTO, which was already at war with the Republic of Tartesia, to bring down the neo–Nazi regime that had taken over a few weeks earlier. Bearing in mind the war in Vardon, Franslavia is committed to providing support. The confit ends on June 26 with a change of government in Tartesia, which becomes a puppet state of the CSTO.

Second Redshanks War (26 June – 13 July)

Following the victory of the CSTO in Tartesia, the Redshanks wish to take the territories of Tartesia, which is refused by the CSTO. On June 26, the same day, the Redshanks launched a new war, the Second Redshanks War, after only 43 days of peace.

On June 29, the CSTO launched a violent campaign of attacks against the Redshanks, who threatened to commit suicide. Prata tries to mediate but the CSTO does not believe in these threats. Eventually, the conflict ends with the dissolution of Tartesia and Zakozia, a member of the CSTO, on July 13, 2022.

This defeat of the Redshanks also allows the official end of the First Micro–World War, which lasted three months.
