The Republic of Eslavztia, more commonly known as Eslavztia, is a micronation located in western Mexico City. Eslavztia was originally founded as an Absolute monarchy under the name of Kingdom of New Land. In 27 April 2023 a referendum was carried out in which people voted to end the monarchical rule and two days later in 29 April 2023 with a 95% of votes in favor, the republic was officially proclaimed.

The micronation has a presidential republic system of government in which the executive, legislative and judicial powers are in charge of different government agencies.

Due to the former isolation policy established by the Kingdom of New Land, at the moment Eslavztia doesn’t have many relations with other micronations and is part of few organization.

Etymology

The name of “Eslavztia” was chosen as the name of the capital city by the King Christopher the I. As the sovereign ruler, he sought to establish a capital city that would symbolize the unity and diversity of his fledgling nation. After much deliberation and contemplation, King Christopher bestowed upon the capital city a name imbued with profound significance. Drawing inspiration from his own heritage and ethnic origin as a descendant of the Slavic people, he chose the name "Eslavztia," a modification of the word “slav”. However, as time marched forward and the ideals of democracy flourished within the micronation, the monarchy gave way to a republic. In a historic declaration, the citizens of the newly formed republic chose to embrace "Eslavztia" not only as the name of their capital city but as the official name of their sovereign micronation.

History

The Founding of the Kingdom of New Land (1 February 2020)

On a crisp February day in 2020, King Christopher the I proclaimed the establishment of the Kingdom of New Land, a visionary micronation founded on the principles of respect, environmental stewardship, equity, and social responsibility. With a noble aim to instill these values in its citizens, King Christopher sought to create a haven where these ideals could flourish, offering a beacon of hope in an uncertain world.

The Dream Deferred

However, despite the grand aspirations of its founder, the Kingdom of New Land failed to live up to its lofty ideals. Within a mere month of its inception, disillusionment set in as it became apparent that the values intended to be taught were neglected. Instead, King Christopher began to abuse his power, indulging in self-aggrandizement and amassing wealth at the expense of his subjects. The promise of a utopian society faded into the shadows of greed and oppression.

Rise of Discontent (1 February 2023)

As the third anniversary of the Kingdom of New Land dawned, discontent simmered among the populace. Frustrated by the mismanagement and tyranny of the king, a courageous few dared to challenge his reign. In a bold move, they founded the Eslavztian Republican Party, advocating for democratic governance and the restoration of the values that had been forsaken.

The People's Revolution (27 April 2023)

When King Christopher caught wind of the growing dissent, he responded with authoritarian measures, ordering the arrest of members of the newly formed Republican Party. However, to his astonishment, the royal police, weary of enforcing unjust decrees, chose to stand in solidarity with the people. In a stunning display of unity, they resigned en masse, leaving the king vulnerable and isolated.

Seizing the moment, the members of the Eslavztian Republican Party mobilized the populace, rallying support for a referendum to determine the fate of the monarchy. With the king's authority waning, they compelled him to abdicate the throne, paving the way for a historic vote.

Birth of the Republic (29 April 2023)

Two days later, on 29 April 2023, the results of the referendum were revealed, with an overwhelming 95% of the populace voting in favor of abolishing the monarchy. With jubilation and hope, the Republic of Eslavztia was officially declared, marking a new chapter in its history.

Though the Republic of Eslavztia may be young, it is built upon the timeless values and principles that inspired its founding. With renewed determination, its citizens embark on a journey to realize the dreams that were once deferred, striving to create a society where respect, environmental stewardship, equity, and social responsibility are not just ideals but lived realities for all who call Eslavztia home.

Politics and government

Early government

In its early stages, the defunct Kingdom of New Land operated under an Absolute monarchy system of government. In this system, all executive, legislative, and judicial powers were concentrated in the hands of the reigning monarch, King Christopher the I.

President

The Republic of Eslavztia is led by a president who is elected every two years through a democratic process. The president serves as the head of state and government, responsible for promoting and executing the laws enacted by the Grand Senate of the Republic. Additionally, the president holds the authority to create or modify laws, provided they do not contravene the constitution.

Vice president

The vice president's primary role is to preside over the government in the absence of the president. While assuming the duties of the president temporarily, the vice president does not possess the authority to create or modify laws.

Grand senate of the republic

The legislative power of Eslavztia is vested in the Grand Senate of the Republic, a single-chamber senate composed of representatives from various political parties. Each party is allocated a specific number of senators, with the party in power holding two fewer senators than the others. Additionally, one president from any party serves as a member of the Senate. The primary function of the Grand Senate is to enact laws beneficial to Eslavztian citizens and to repeal any laws that contravene the constitution.

Political parties

The legalization of political parties occurred following the establishment of the Republic of Eslavztia. The first political party, the Eslavztian Republican Party, originated during the era of the Kingdom of New Land. Since transitioning to a republic, several political parties have emerged. The major parties include the Eslavztian Republican Party, the Omarist Party, the Eslavztian Socialist Party, and the Independent Party of Eslavztia. These parties represent diverse ideologies and interests within Eslavztian society, contributing to the democratic process and governance of the nation.

Grand court of the republic

The judicial power in the Republic of Eslavztia is vested in the Grand Court of the Republic. This esteemed institution is entrusted with the solemn mission of upholding and defending the constitution. The Grand Court diligently prosecutes any individual found to have violated the constitution or committed crimes within the territorial boundaries of Eslavztia. Military

Eslavztia currently remains a micronation without armed forces. However, it maintains a dedicated department responsible for civil protection. While devoid of traditional military forces, Eslavztia prioritizes the safety and security of its citizens through vigilant civil protection measures.

Civil protection department
