The Duke's Own Guard Regiment is an independent regiment in service of the Duchy of Dorset dedicated to the protection of the Duke of Dorset, his family and his estates. While the guard does participate in ceremonial events, it is also a fully functional combat unit. Its members are trusted and esteemed subjects of the duchy who are consigned duties and responsibilities of a higher regard than the regular soldiery.
