Ebdonia; Ebdonian: Ǝqpouᴉɐ, officially the Union of Ebdonia is a micronation. Ebdonia's territory consists of land in Europe, Asia and Africa. It is bordered by the United Kingdom, Azerbaijan and Algeria. Bramblewood is the capital city, although Ciutadella de Menorca is the de jure largest city, with the de facto largest city being Bramblewood.
Ebdonia is a unitary, one party micronation. It was founded on 4 June 2017 when it declared it's independence from the United Kingdom. In July 2019 Menorca and the surrounding islands were annexed into Ebdonia. In May 2020 Tiqranaket Region and Khelidj Region were annexed into Ebdonia. During the COVID-19 pandemic a revolution in Ebdonia on 14 August 2020 removed the monarch and established a republic.
On 1st August 2022 Ebdonia opened diplomatic relations to the Empire of Shahawkia
Etymology
The country's name means "Ebdon land". - "The land of Ebdon" - Ebdon in this case being a village within Ebdonia, previously the capital.
History
The territory now part of Ebdonia has a long history. The Northern region was settled during prehistory. The Normans invaded in 1066, building two castles, which are still here as of 2022. The Mediterranean region was settled also during prehistory - in this case the Talyotic Civilisation, who built megalith throughout the region which are still here as of 2022. It was part of the Roman Empire until it fell and was occupied by Islamic powers until it was conquered by the Crown of Aragon during the 15th century. The Southern regions were conquered from the Roman Empire by Islamic powers and was part of many Islamic powers, up until 1830 when France invaded and occupied the area until Algeria became independent in 1962. The eastern regions were part of the Russian Empire, Soviet Union, and Azerbaijan in that order, it is located near the Armenia-Azerbaijan border border. On June 4th 2017 Ebdonia declared independence from the United Kingdom. In July 2019 Menorca and the surrounding islands were annexed to Ebdonia forming the Union of Ebdonia. In May 2019 Tiqranaket Region and Khelidj Region were annexed to the Union of Ebdonia. During the COVID-19 COVID-19 pandemic a revolution occured and the monarchy under Queen Elizabeth I, also the queen of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and other states was removed forming a republic under President Sofia.
Ebdonia was recognised by its first other nation, Shahawkia on 1st August 2022.
