The February 2023 Pontunian Legeslative election is a snap election to be held on February 28, 2023, after being delayed twice due to lack of candidates. The election was called by the King to fill the mostly vacant Estates General.

Background

A lack of participation from citizens abroad, and a surprising turnout to the Pontunian Royal Summit in December 2022 by residents emboldened the Monarch to call for new elections, presented mostly towards residents. Nevertheless, the elections have been delayed twice.

Campaign issues

Economy

Following the start of the 2022 Bayou recession, the economy of Pontunia dipped into a bear market, but large-scale layoff did not happen, as most businesses were nationalized to prevent bankruptcy. Now that most economic woes are behind the nation, some politicians are calling for privatization under new mangement.

Online Activity

Pontunian Online Citizens have mostly been inactive.
