The Flag of Nucilandia is a standard 2:3 national flag representing the micronation of Nucilandia.

The flag was adopted on 21 May 2020 and was designed by its Great Walnut, Hori.

Design

The flag of Nucilandia consists of two equally broad stripes, where the lower one is blue, and the upper one is red. Between the stripes in the left part of the flag, there is a golden wedge. These three background colours are inherited from the flag of Romania, representing the Romanian roots of the country. The red and blue stripes and their order, have a secondary meaning, being similar to the flag of Oradea, the birthplace of the nation.

The golden wedge contains a couple of red towers, each representing one of Nucilandia's physical territories. Currently, there are three representing the territories in Romania in Oradea, Bihor, Cluj-Napoca, Cluj, and Dezmir, Cluj.

At the intersection of the three colours, there is a symbol of The Sun, a primordial entity of Ciupitism of immense importance in Nucilandia, with a golden face and eight dark red rays.

There is no symbol for the Holy Walnut on the flag. Instead, it is represented by the flag as a whole, as the country is itself dedicated to it.

History

Mlendea's House Republik (2012)

The flag of Mlendea's House Republik was the original flag of what is now known as Nucilandia, during its initial phase as an anarchist republic. The flag incorporated various symbols representing different ideologies, reflecting the country's inclusive approach towards all political orientations.

Flag of Mlendea's House Republik

The design of the flag featured the 1848 Romanian Revolutionary flag as its background, symbolizing a connection to the revolutionary spirit. On the left side of the flag, the communist emblem from the flag of the Socialist Republic of Romania was present, but with the text modified to read "Mlendea" instead of "Romania". This emblem was chosen because it depicts an impossible-to-achieve utopia of progress, which MHR also aimed for.

Around the emblem, various symbols associated with Nazism, Communism, and Islam were dispersed, representing the country's acceptance and acknowledgment of diverse and even conflicting ideologies. The flag served as a visual representation of the anarchical nature of the republic, and its commitment to embracing all ideologies and orientations, regardless of their differences.

The flag was a powerful symbol of the nation's founding principles of inclusivity, defiance, and the rejection of conventional norms. While it no longer represents the current structure and ethos of Nucilandia, its historical significance as the flag of the initial phase of the country's existence remains an important part of its heritage.

Modern

The modern flag of Nucilandia was adopted on 21 May 2020.

As Nucilandia expanded its territories over the years, the flag underwent several revisions to reflect the changing landscape. Each time a new territory was acquired, a new tower was added to the golden wedge. This served as a visual representation of Nucilandia's territorial growth and expansion.

Additionally, minor adjustments have been made to the shape and sizes of the symbols.
