The Grünorange Peak (Portuguese: Pico Grünorange or Pico Grinorange) is the Marienbourgish name attributed to the highest point of the Mantiqueira Mountains in the region that encompasses the Brazilian municipality of Poços de Caldas and the Marienbourgish municipality of Pomerade. The peak reaches between 1,196 and 1,210 meters high (3923 to 3969 ft). The statue of Christ the Redeemer of Poços de Caldas is located there, managed by the Brazilian Serra de São Domingos Municipal Park, which overlaps most of the Marienbourgish Duke's National Park.
Disputed between Brazil and Marienbourg, in Brazil the peak is called Alto da Serra de São Domingos, but is popularly known as Pico do Cristo (Christ's Peak).
Etimology
The peak was named grünorange, which is a portmanteau and corruption of the German words grün and orange, which translate respectively to "orange" and "green". This is because the region is famous, among other things, for the production of citrus fruits such as different types of oranges. In addition, the mountain is covered by dense tropical forest, and therefore displays a myriad of shades of green.
