History

The Home Guard is the oldest regiment in the Tanaauan Army. It was formed on the orders King Colin I on 15 December 2023.

Role

The Home Guard first and foremost defends Tanaau against foreign invasion. In addition to this, the regiment is often mobilised to maintain order internally during times of national emergency. As well as maintaining order, the regiment occasionally sends detachments to form parts of the military protection detail of members of royalty despite not directly guarding royal palaces.

Command Structure

The Home Guard is commanded by an officer usually ranking at Lieutenant Colonel or Colonel, who is aided by a regimental executive officer (usually a Lieutenant Colonel or Major, depending on the commanding officer's rank). They are aided by a Regimental Sergeant Major who ranks at Warrant Officer Class 1.

The monarch serves as the Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment.

The regiment is permitted to recruit reservists in addition to their regular soldiers. Reservists serve in their own platoons within the regiment.
