Functions and Powers

The Easwegian Grand Chamber is chiefly led by the Grand Councillor, with the President of the United Common Assembly and the Federal Director of Education and Culture overseeing its chief administration. It is both ceremonial and honorary, containing those recognised by the assembly as awardees and archiving the Easwegian greats. It is also the language and cultural commission of Easway, archiving federal cultural and linguistic aspects of Easway, and also has the powers of advising the government on policies pertaining to these.

Members

The Grand Councillor presides over the House of Zerri for the entirety of their term and may nominate new members. The Assembly President and Federal Directorate of Education and Culture are also members throughout their term and may nominate new members. The current formerly mentioned members in order are Squ Bai, Swapardeshi and Devaade Raizerni. Furthermore, the General Director and Imperative Council may nominate new members. All nominations are confirmed by a majority of the United Common Assembly.

History

Federal Legislature

The Easwegian Grand Chamber was created on 14 January 2020 as part of the Directorial Federation Constitution establishment, and served as the federal legislature, a successor to the Constitutional Assembly. In this sense, it was categorised as the sixth United Common Assembly in its existence as a legislative body between 14 January and 25 May 2020.

It's common colloquial name of House of Zerri comes from Ezerryen Loumzerri, literally Easwegian House, and refers to the term of loum also referring to a group of people.

As the sixth assembly, the EGC contained the Chief Coordinator (chief head of state) as its speaker and its membership also included the governors of the provinces (municipalities), as well as for a brief time the Marquis of Essrina, who accompanied the governor of Essrina.

Cultural and Linguistic Commission

On 29 August 2023, President Metalli appointed former Grand Lady Sannu Meizcherni Raizerni as the Chief Researcher for the Committee on Ezaari Eurasian Roots. The committee cross-checked the Easwegian Chronicles with real-world data and archeological foundings and theorised that the Ezaari Easwegians find their roots within the late Bronze Age Karasuk Culture of the Altai Mountains in central Asia. The Karasuk culture itself forms the Yeniseian languages to form the Karasuk languages, of which Burushaski spoken largely in Kashmir, and Ezerryen Easwegian of the Barents region is speculated to also be a member of.
