The Independent Republic of New York, more commonly known as IRNY was a micronation founded around the 24th of April 2022. Early RNY had very little history and was only known for selling paper marks known as Chuckbucks. The Independent Republic of New York was the first micronation that was made by Nafe A and is also the earliest predecessor to the modern Republic of New York. The nation was made up of two territories that were subdivided into cities or towns. The largest city was East York. The Independent Republic of New York had no documents as they were either lost or non-existent
Etymology
Nafe A decided on the name from a fictional country he created a month ago. When he turned it into a micronation he decided on the Independent Republic of New York to show that it was independent.
History
Formation
The Independent Republic of New York was formed on the 24th of April 2022 when the current President Nafe.A was playing a game and together his friends formed it. They called this micronation the Independent Republic of New York.
Early Foreign Affairs
The Independent Republic of New York had no foreign affairs during this time and was isolated from the micronational community.
Economic Prosperity and Downfall
During the time the Independent Republic of New York was founded the economy had major growth and Chuckbucks was thriving. This growth continued until July 2022 when the economy started stagnating and the economy declined which resulted in the downfall of Chuckbucks.
Instability
After the fall of Chuckbucks and the economy as a whole, people started opposing the Republic of New York threatening an overthrow. This was due to the fact the Independent Republic of New York was not democratic and also because of the economic downfall.
Dissolution
President Nafe A decided on dissolving the Independent Republic of New York after it started becoming too unstable. This would result in the much more stable and democratic Republic of New York becoming the successor state.
Government
The Government of the Independent Republic of New York was highly unorganized with the president having almost absolute power. It can be described as more like a Anocracy as there was little power balance between the President and the people. Although the President did allow voting it mostly never happened except for adopting a national flag, and currency.
Administrative Divisions
The Independent Republic of New York was divided into 2 territories, the capital region made up of the president's house, and the territory of East York made up of Nafe A's Schoolyard.
