Islamic State of Balkans was a terrorist organization that operated in Republic of Dimitrovgrad and Social Republic of Dragoman.
History
Early history of ISB
Islamic State of Balkans was founded in 2015, but it was named Army of Jihad and Tawheed, they gave bayah to then IS caliph Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi but they didn't do anything for next 2 years when their first terror attack happened, they attacked several soldiers Vlasinian soldiers, the attack wasn't successful and one terrorist was captured.
From 2018 onwards
In 2018, Army of Jihad and Tawheed had split into two groups, the more liberal Organization for Liberation of Gjakova and Koshare and radical Islamic State-Balkan Wilayah. In 2019. When ISIS in Syria was defeated militarily and Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi was killed by US, many insurgents gave bayah to many other Islamist extremist leaders and thus, Islamic State-Balkan Wilayah, lost the power it had and it was considered disbanded. This information was denied by Emir of IS-BW who is known as Abu Omar Khattab. In speech the Emir gave on day when Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi was killed, he said this:
The Islamic Ummah has lost one of it's greatest lions, a blessing that was sent by Allah, today, we lost a warrior, we lost Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi, but, my brothers and sisters, we must continue to fight against the kuffar and strive to make the dreams of our late Khalifa reality.
On 1st february 2020, Abu Omar Khattab resigned from his position as Emir of IS-BW. From february 1st to 4th of august 2021, Islamic State-Balkan Wilayah was inactive and it completely disappeared from micronational political scene, organization didn't have an Emir until july of 2021 when Abu Omar Khattab returned to IS-BW. During this time of inactivity, many splinter groups were formed and they were fighting against several micronations in Macedonia and Bulgaria, the fighting was most intense in Tetovo Empire. In august 2021, IS-BW started operating in New Republic of Zaire and Kyrati Republic thus, a separate group made for fighting in Zaire and Kyrat called 'Islamic State of Zaire and Kyrat' was formed. ISZK fought in Zairean civil war and it control over 35% of Zairean territory, however, after many hardships, Zairean Government and Opposition managed to destroy the Islamic State in Battle of Trench and thus, ISZK was disbanded. In december 2021, Islamic Talibanist Emirate of Rhodesia was formed and Islamic State fought in this war against both official Government of Rhodesia and Talibanist forces. After collapse of the Emirate, Islamic State continued the Insurgency against Rhodesian government. In january 2022, Islamic State started an Insurgency against Yaran state and it continued until march 2023. In april 2023, Islamic State started an Insurgency in Republic of Dimitrovgrad. On April 20th 2023, ISB started operating in North Macedonia. It´s presence was confirmed when a skirmish with National Liberation Army happened in Šar Mountain on Kosovo-Macedonia border. In the skirmish, one NLA soldier was injured. On May 5th, in a statement made by ISB leader, Abu Omar Khattab, it was declared that ISB is seceding from Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. In the same statement, ISB declared war on NLA. Reason for that, according to Abu Omar Khattab, is ideology of Albanian nationalism that has been embraced by the NLA. On June 21st, after several major defeats, Islamic State officially ceased it's operations in all of mentioned countries. One small remanent group is still active on territory of Yara, Dimitrovgrad and Dragoman. On July 7th, remanent group of Islamic State united with Vlasina Islamic Army. On october 15th 2023. ISB declared it´s secession from Vlasina Islamic Army.
Islamic State media wing
Just two days before collapse of ISB, Al Shariatul Media Center was made. According to Yaran Secret Services, Media wing continues to operate because of remanent groups of ISB.
