Discovery

In the late 19th century, British explorers and sailors went on a voyage, hoping for the discovery of islands. Led by their captain, Hampton Millet, they have discovered islands in the Southern Atlantic Ocean; Close to the present-day coast of Namibia while writing it down on a notepaper.

Foundation

The British explorers and sailors settled on one of the islands, "Robert Island" which they named after their most influential crew, Robert Matthew.

Their captain, Hampton Millet went on to settle on other of the islands and he named them: "Providence Island," "Banner Island" and "Absquatulate Island". He then self-proclaimed himself as the leader of the islands.

Relinquishment

In 22 May 1868, the explorers and sailors living in their settlements felt bored and were ambitious to return back to their homeland but did not want to get their discovery be forgotten. So, they came up with an idea to hand the island to the United Kingdom. They had to sail back from the islands to the Isles of Britain for negotiations

And after some discussions were made, it is agreed for the United Kingdom to have the island as their protectorate colony.
