Kinnon Convention
The Kinnon Convention is a treaty authored by Citizen-Premier Sophia Albina which concerns the treatment of drug addicts and guiding principles of legislation surrounding the question of addiction within micronations. The treaty draws its ideas about addiction and recovery from the writings of twelve-step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. The Convention was named for James Patrick Kinnon, founder of Narcotics Anonymous, as tribute to him.
The Kinnon Convention has four articles, with the first defining addiction, the second outlining guidelines for legislation within the signatories' states, the third concerning potential programs within micronations for treatment of addicts, and the fourth which regards accountability checks and provides deadlines for nations to provide evidence of their application of the treaty within their states.
