Landistan, officially the Empire of Landistan, is a micronation located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. The nation claims two territorial provinces, and 62,500 square feet of land. According to the Landistani Census, about 12 people live in the nation.
The nation is governed by two leaders, the Dictator and Emperor. They will choose citizens of Landistan as members of cabinet offices, such as Chief of the Military.
History
Landistan was founded on January 12, 2018 after declaring independence from the United States. On that same day, Landistan adopted the box jellyfish seal which has been a national icon ever since.
The new government saw Dictator Algikplé Bíktår and Emperor Sræng Ona rise to power. Under their command, the Landistani Declaration of Independence was signed in Landistan City.
Government
Landistan runs on a monarchy, where the powers are shared by the Dictator and Emperor. Provincial governors are also elected to discuss with the two leaders the current state of their province. A direct democracy is also involved, as national referendums are held frequently.
Geography
Landistan currently claims two provinces, both in the Raleigh area. The capital city, Landistan City, makes up the province of Castallia. The city of Valor makes up the province of Bíktåri. These areas combine for 62,500 square feet in territory.
Politics
Algikplé Bíktår and Sræng Ona are the Dictator and Emperor of Landistan, respectively. They make up the Leadership Council of Landistan. Referendums are to be held on July 25, 2018. The Dictator and Emperor run all ministries of the government, most prominently the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
Under normal circumstances, each province elects a governor. However, due to population issues in the two provinces at the moment, the governor is not elected, but rather appointed by the government.
Political parties are legal in Landistan. However, since no elections are held aside from provincial governor elections, they mainly work to place initiatives on the monthly referendum.
