The Southern Football Championship, also known as the Southern Championship, Southern Aichile Championship and Southern League, is the southern professional football league between clubs in the southern Aichile region, being the main football competition in the region. It is through this that teams get a place in the Aichile Championship and the North-South Super Cup.

its first edition was only in 1987, in which edition the Petroles do Aichile team became champions of the Southern League, currently in the 1997 season the league has 5 places for the Aichile championship and 3 places for the North-South Super Cup, the last placed in the relegation table for each season to the 2nd League and the penultimate team competes in the relegation/access play-off against the runner-up of the 2nd League to decide who gets a place in the Southern League.
