List of Political Parties in Rhodesia

This article lists political parties in the Rhodesia, which has a multi-party system with numerous political parties, in which any one party has little chance of gaining power alone, and parties often work with each other to form coalition governments.

The unicameral house of the legislature, the House of Delegates, is elected by a first-past-the-post system in 15 individual geographically based districts.

The first official legislatural election was held on April 18, 2021, it shocked many, considering many ties in several constituencies occurred during this election.

General Overview

• The Christian Union (CU) is a Christian democratic political party. It attaches great value to moralism and Christian doctrines, as well as social conservatism and economic responsibility. They believe in freedom of the individual to a certain extent of the law. It is supportive of broader economic ideas, creating an atmosphere of a centrist economic platform. The party's leader is GHazardPerry of Umzingwane.
• The Socialist Party (SP) is a Progressive Democratic Socialist political party. It was formerly the Marxist-Socialist party, but changed its name on April 12, 2021. It expresses major support for Progressive ideas, as well as mitigating the effects of capitalism with regulation, but not eliminating it entirely. It also is very anti-war in nature. The party's leader is Chairman Meow.
• The Civic Democratic Party (CDC) or Civic Democracy Party, is a liberal and lasseiz-faire political party. It is classified as a center to center-right wing party. It emphasizes hugely on the freedom of the individual and free market economics, trying to create a state in which Rhodesia becomes a regional economic power. The party's leader is Margaret Tchacher.
• YES 2021 (YE21) is a Big Tent and Populist political party. It is strictly anti-corruption, and reflects a mission to deliver honest and open government to the Rhodesian people. They do not subscribe to any ideology other than open government and populism, although their leader, Andrej Babis, is described as a Liberal Conservative.
• The Catholic Peoples Party (CPP) is a Catholic and Christian democratic political party. It adheres to the seven principles of the Rerum Novarum. The Catholic Peoples Party advocates for class unity, the rights of workers in the workplace, and strives for "A Moral and Just Rhodesia". Since its foundation, it has been led by Sir Hospitallier of Boi.
