The Mermont Commonwealth[a] (Spanish: Mancomunidad de Mermont), commonly referred to as Mermont ,[b] is a micronation claiming sovereignty from the United States. Mermont is located within the city of [[w:Frisco,_Texas Frisco, Texas], and was founded by Rittler] on March 17, 2022. Because it is currently a new micronation, Mermont only consists of 1 person, it's founder.

In its current state, the Mermont Commonwealth is an absolute monarchy. There are plans to transition into a constitutional monarchy in the future.

Mermont is divided into two districts: Galene and Silverado. Galene is a 13-acre plot of land marked with lakes and a stream dividing the territory. Silverado is marked with a large lake and a wooded area and a playground.

History

From 2015 to 2019, the northern side of the Miramonte neighborhood was constructed. The area consisted of several houses and a large park area spanning roughly 12 acres.

In March 2022, fed up with his perceived lack of proper citizen representation, Rittler declared independence from the United States. Mermont was formed in the neighborhood's park area and an equally large parcel of land a few blocks south.
