Morbillism is the worship of the god Morbius, as well as the three deities. Morbillism is the official religion of the Federated States of Morbius, as well as having a small number of followers in the United States of America.

History

Morbillism was founded in 2022, when Morbius was viewed for the morbillionth time. This mystical morbillionth viewer was granted unfathomable cosmic powers (just like Morbius). With the powers, he created the Morbian archipelago, home to the Federated States of Morbius before turning into a bat.

All of the most hardcore Morbius fans (6.9% of all people who watched) made a pilgrimage to this new country to stay and worship.

For many months, this country flourished. Until, on December 7, 2022, someone seized control of the wiki page. They still hold the main wiki page.

Ideals

Some of the ideas Morbillism revolves around are:

  • Morbius is the one and only god. He should be held above all other things in life.
  • One should take pride in their love for Morbius.
  • One should always be ready to donate blood to Morbius.
  • Make disciples of all nations, converting them all in the name of Morbius.

Influence

While Morbillism holds little power outside of the Federated States of Morbius, the country’s semi-presidential system allows for the Morbillist pope to have influence in the government. The time(s) of when followers of Morbillism should worship is also completely under the church’s control. The church also has the ability to start campaigns to convert others without the government’s permission, though the Morbillist pope does have to inform the president and must cease their campaign if 2/3 of legislature votes for it to end. The First Morbillist Crusade is the only time this law has come into effect.

Scripture

The only official scripture of Morbillism is the script of Morbius, though many followers also read summaries and reviews of the movie in an attempt to expand their knowledge of the god and the religion itself. Some of the more powerful followers of Morbillism have made attempts to make a transcript of Morbius and marvel comics that originally depicted the god official scripture as well, though all attempts have failed.
