The Parliament of Arkadelphia is the constitutional body holder of the legislative function. The Parliament has a bicameral structure, and consists of two chambers having the same functions: the Advisory committee and the General Parliament. The first is made up of 4 secretaries in the second a minister is to be added as more provinces are added to the nation.
Advisory committee
The Advisory committee is the Upper house of the Parliament, one of two parliamentary assemblies (the other is the General parliament) that constitute the Arkadelphian Parliament.
The Advisory committee was originally the only part of the parliament, but today it is also accompanied by the General Parliament. Moreover, the Government is primarily responsible to the General Parliament; the prime minister stays in office only as long as he or she retains its support. As of writing there are currently 8 members of parliament, 4 of witch are from the Advisory committee.
Member of Parliament
A Member of Parliament is a representative of the voters to the parliament. Since Arkadelphia have a bicameral parliament, the term applies specifically to members of the lower house, as upper houses have a different title, such as advisors.
Members of parliament tend to form parliamentary groups (also called parliamentary parties) with members of the same political party. In everyday use, the term Member of Parliament is almost always shortened to the initialism "MP", and this is also common in the media.
