The Republic of Mellonia is a micronation founded on 22 August 2015.
Etymology
The Republic of Mellonia is named after the word mello meaning pleasantly smooth or soft; free from harshness. This word was chosen to honor the founder's primary instruments he plays: the Horn and the Mellophone.
History
The Republic of Mellonia was founded on 22 August 2015. On the first day of the newly formed government, the official flag of the Republic was decided and declared August 22 a national holiday.
Government and politics
The Republic of Mellonia is a direct democracy. On August 22 of every year, the President is elected by the population. There is no limit on the number of terms a President can have. The President is the Commandant of all Armed Forces of the Republic, and is in charge of all diplomatic relations and treaties. The President has the right to elect officials to each office, and also elect diplomats to other states if necessary.
