Old Castle, officially the Royal Province of Old Castle or R.P.O.O.C, is a Constitutional Monarchy ruled over symbiotically by the Chosen R.P.O.O.C Regent and the R.O.C.M. Officer Corps and though claims to be a sovereign state, is more commonly referred to as a Micronation by external observers. Founded on the island of Great Britain, Old Castle had declared independence from the United Kingdom in February 2018. It is an enclave and exclave Nation, consisting of Six non-contiguous pieces of land: three in Great Britain and Three within the Virtual world of Second life.

The Royal Old Castle Military or R.O.C.M acts as the Prime Organisation for military stability within the Nation and it's Various Territories, and contains both The R.O.C.M Infantry division and the R.O.C.M Air Service.

Politics and Governance

The I.P.O.O.C

His Regency's Government (or, when the reigning monarch is female, Her Regency's Government; commonly known as the Castleish Government, R.P.O.O.C Governance or The I.P.O.O.C) is the central executive authority of the Royal Province of Old Castle. The government is led by High Protector (Currently Precival Ponsley III as of 01/11/23) who selects all the other Governance Representatives. The country has had a I.P.O.O.C(Industrious Party of Old Castle)-led government since 2023, with the successive High Protector being the then-leader of the I.P.O.O.C. The High Protector and their most senior Governance Representatives belong to the supreme decision-making committee, known as the Triumvirate.

Under uncodified Castleish Law, executive authority lies with the Regent, although this authority is exercised only after receiving the advice of the I.P.O.O.C. and it's current Governance Representatives. The High Protector of Old Castle , The ROCM Officer Corps and the Minister of Propaganda serve as members and advisers of the monarch within the I.P.O.O.C. however in most cases the I.P.O.O.C exercises power directly as leaders of the government, Police and Military departments.

The Ministry of Civilian Affairs

The Ministry of Civilian Affairs ( formerly, The Bureau of Continental Operations 2018-2023) is the government body charged with general civilian affairs within the R.P.O.O.C, it is best known for housing The Ministry of Propaganda (M.O.P) which generates and distributes War time and political propaganda, civil advertisements , national announcements and sets the standard for art and culture within the province.

The Castleish Anti-Furry Legislation

As The R.P.O.O.C has a presence in multiple virtual worlds such as Second life and thusly has had many interactions with the "Furry Fandom", it's sympathizer States and Micro Nations.

It is a belief of the I.P.O.O.C that the work of the International Anthropomorphic Research Project (IARP), a team of social scientists from various disciplines has served as sufficient evidence concerning the purpose and agenda of the Furry Fandom. The data on the furry fandom has been gathered using numerous methodologies. Their 2016 publication collects several peer-reviewed and self-published studies into a single volume. Among their findings were that the average adult furry is between 23 and 27 years of age, with more than 75% of furries reporting being 25 years of age or younger, and 88% of adult furries being under the age of 30. Minors were not included in the study for professional ethics reasons. However, IARP estimated 20% were under the age of 18, this is a unnerving factor for the R.P.O.O.C citizenry when considering the Movement's formation.

The origins of the Furry Fandom can be found in the underground comix movement of the 1970s, a genre of comic books that depicts explicit sexual content. In 1976, a pair of cartoonists created the amateur press association Vootie, which was dedicated to animal-focused sexual art, such as "Omaha" the Cat Dancer, which contained both Zoophilia and Bestiality. Vootie grew a small following over the next several years, and its contributors began meeting at science fiction and comics conventions, now in modern society , the Internet has given birth to multiple platforms of perverse sexualised furry websites and virtual hangouts , as well as Virtual and Real world Anti-sematic and Fascist furry organisations that seemingly adopt the aesthetic of the German National Socialist Party. A 2013 study at a Furry convention later confirmed that 96.3% of male Furries consumed animalistic Furry pornography. Other information to consider is the term "yiff" or "Yiffing" this is sometimes used to indicate sexual activity or sexual material within the fandom—this applies to sexual activity and interaction within the subculture whether in the form of cybersex or offline.

Any form of Animal Sexualisation or "Non-human identification" is strictly illegal within the R.P.O.O.C as dictated by the Castleish Anti-Furry Legislation. Those who identify as anything other than "Human" are treated as non-sensical Fictophiles or Zoophiles and are culpable for judgment and punishment by the Taciturn , traditionally resulting in Ostracization.

Military

Divisions

The R.O.C.M are the military wing of the R.P.O.O.C, administrated and partially funded by the Ministry of Propaganda and The Ministry of Civilian Affairs. The Regent is commander-in-chief of the military, and a selected Duke serves as High Protector of Old Castle , Chief of Military affairs & Civilian Policing.

Between February 2018 and June 2019, The R.P.O.O.C had a small standing army. However, a prolonged peace since the "Secondlife Micro-Nation Wars" concluded towards the end of 2019 , and with numerous enlisted soldiers falling out of contact with the government over the subsequent four years the original R.O.C.M collapsed and the Subsequent Reunification of The R.O.C.M occurred in 2023.

Armed Forces now consist of the R.O.C.M Infantry Division and The R.O.C.M Air Service, as well as Specialised Militaristic Entities such as The Taciturn or The Castle Guard, Though it is worth noting that each of these Elite Organisations operate separately from the R.O.C.M and are therefor outside of it's boundaries and regulations.
