Royal State of Kaltesa

The Royal State of Kaltesa is a micronation founded on February 12, 2021 as an artistic expression and creative avenue for artists, writers, and other creators. It is situated within the Philippines and is one of the few Filipino-speaking micronations in the world. While claiming sovereignty, Kaltesa assumes itself to be a constituent state to the Philippines. Initially a project to reintroduce the idea of monarchy in the Philippines, Kaltesa has since evolved into a thriving micronation monarchy that strives to promote and promulgate culture, tradition, art, and history. Kaltesa is chief administrator of Micronation Monarchies online community and curator of the growing Grand Roster Flag Series of Recognized Micronation Monarchies.

Etymology

The Royal State of Kaltesa derives its name from the Greek kalos which means ‘noble’ and the Catalan word altesa which means ‘highness.’ Kaltesa believes itself to be a state that endeavours nobility and loftiness in terms of ideals and aspirations.
