The island of Shag Rocks is apart of the Kingdom of Aspen and is the successor to the Protectorate of Shag Rocks under the Grand Duchy of Liangsi.
History
Located among the Brewsters, these bedrock ledges have long been a danger to mariners, being the site of many historic shipwrecks. The nearby Boston Light on Little Brewster Island was built in order to warn travelers of the island, ensuring they did not sail into them. In 2019, the Shag Rocks were claimed under the protection of the Grand Duchy of Liangsi, as part of the Grand Duchy. On February 28, Liangsi handed control over the islands to the Kingdom of Aspen for protection.
Etymology
The etymology of Shag Rocks is currently unknown, however speculations about the origin include the word shag describing the roughness of the island and the common occurrence of shipwrecks.
