The Social Liberal Party of Etukan, also known as the Social Liberal Party or by its acronym as SLP is one of the two major parties in Etukan's High Council. It was founded by its incumbent leader Tyler Misciagna on the 19th of April, 2020. The party held the plurality of the seats in the High Council from the first elections they participated in until the July 2021 elections, when they formed a coalition with the Labour Greens to maintain a majority.

In the July 2021 elections, the SLP put forward Rep. Robert Moreton as their candidate to be the State Chancellor but were beat closely by the United Socialist Party's Patrick Biltoft. Despite this, the Liberal-Labour coalition had maintained a majority in the High Council. Instead of blocking Biltoft's confirmation and forcing another election, the coalition confirmed Biltoft and agreed to cooperate with his government. Biltoft's cabinet was confirmed by the Emperor the next week, with a third of cabinet positions being held by SLP members.

Leadership

The Social Liberal Party of Etukan has no party constitution or properly defined form of internal organization. The leader of the party is often simply referred to as the "leader", and has all authority within the party. The first and incumbent leader of the SLP is it's founder Tyler Misciagna.

In all provincial elections the SLP has participated in, their candidate has not been contested, with the single exception of the October Bi-Elections in what would later become Carlow province after the division of West Etukan.

West Etukan Bi-Elections

Ryan Corbett, the incumbent Social Liberal Representative for West Etukan, was defeated by the independent Harper Murphy in the October Bi-Elections (in what is now Carlow province, but was then referred to as the Western half of West Etukan) that followed the division of West Etukan into two new provinces. The SLP did not put forward a candidate in the other new province which would later become Kurrigal province, that was formerly West Etukan.
