"The Stripe-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United Federation of Aumarea. The tune is to that of the United States' anthem. The Stripe-Spangled Banner is the oldest piece of Aumarean music.
History
The anthem was officially adopted on 2 April 2023. Its lyrics were composed by Luke Knight and was set to the tune of the United States' anthem, so the tune of the song is a number of hundred years old while the lyrics specifically are younger than Aumarea.
The song was written to install pride in Aumarean citizens, to remember Aumarean history and the fight for Aumarean independence. It can be seen to me a nationalist song as well as the national anthem.
Traditions
It is tradition to play the national anthem at the start of any big presidential address, such as before the President makes their State of the Federation Address to Congress, before any other significant political event, and is also typically sung at presidential inaugurations just before the incoming president is due to be sworn in.
