The Mindest Monarchist State of Verdistania, more commonly known as Verdistania, is a micronation in Central Kansas. It was founded on the 1st of June, 2023, and has been thriving since. When the micronation was first founded, all it was-was a small piece of land and 3 people. As of Summer 2023, It has 14 residents and has a booming market for blackberries.
Etymology
The word "Verdistania" comes from the 'Verdigris river'. Verdistania was originally Turkistan and Verdistan however, the two micronations would merge in early 2023.
History
Verdistania was founded when two micronations merged to found one. After an ongoing meeting with the two countries, they would make a truce and later merge together. During this time, Verdistan would be attacked by 2 personnel of the Navarre (Now Linksberg) 1st infantry. For 2 months, the new country had no military or money. However, a meeting with the two rulers would happen and they would start recruiting people to work for country. A constitution was made on June 1, 2023 and Verdistania would officialy be formed.
Verdi Empire
Just 2 months after Verdistania would be founded, they would all seperate to form the bigger Verdi Empire. The reason, according to King William, would simply be that "Verdistania is too big to rule over." Unfortunately, the Verdi Empire would last only 3 weeks before finally, Verdistania would go back to its old land claims of which Verdistan had.
Politics and government
Verdistania is a Mindest Monarch State. This means that Verdistania tries to be as independent as possible. This also gives people freedom since the only thing that they are technically being ruled by is the Constitution as the Government technically has no rule over them. However, if you break a law and someone witnesses it, can be fined or an arrested.
The Peacemakers
Verdistania only has one form of protection. The KMA Royal Guard. Not only do they take care of crime but they also are the only army personnel. They are mostly present in the territories that they live in however sometimes they will come to meetings and conferences. As of early 2024, 4 people are in the Royal Guard.
Geography and climate
Verdistania is located in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Usually, the high of the year is at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit while the low is usually 0 degrees Fahrenheit. However, in the recent Winters, it has only gotten hotter and hotter. In the Winter of 2022, it got up to 85 degrees, which is very unusual for the area.
Territories
Verdistania has 3 territories. Verdigria, The Verdigris Meadows, and Halbinsel. Verdigria has the capitol of Verdiburg, whilst the Verdigris Meadows has the only national landmark, Mt. Hind. Halbinsel is home to Halbinsel Beach, the largest city in Verdistania.
Linksberg
Linksberg is a small micronation in Williamsburg, Virginia. They are technically apart of Verdistania and just a territory however the inhabitants of Linksberg think not. As of Summer 2023, 5 residents live in Linksberg. King Chex rules over Linksberg with his assistant John IV.
Death of King Link
On February 8th, 2024, King Link would venture out away from Linksberg to expand the territory. Unfortunately, he would never return to Linksberg. The cause would be a freak accident. Just 2 weeks later, King Chex would take over. This would cause those in Linksberg and Verdistania to consider a name change, however that never went through.
Economy
Verdistania's economy is made up of 3 things. Import and export, tourism, and of course, products needed by the people. Verdistania mostly exports blackberries and "cheap wood". Cheap wood is a type of plant which can act like wood.
Events
The only current holiday is celebrated on June 1st. This is to celebrate the founding of Verdistania. Verdistania also has a monthly meeting in the "Sewer Creek District" to discuss what has happened in the past month and what they hope to have in the future.
