Context

While the Republic of Zergue had planned a coup against Neustrian leader Wilfrid Orochi in early March 2023, the same regime had stolen and published the personal data of Neustria's Prime Minister, and they were openly preparing a weapon of digital destruction, to be used against the Republic of Fiera and the Principality of Neustria, for reasons of national security and democratization of what had become a neo-Nazi regime, the Principality of Neustria decided to declare war on Zergue on May 13, 2023.

The course of the war

On May 13, 2023, the Principality of Neustria invades the entire digital territory of the Republic of Zergue in a record 19 minutes. A provisional occupation government is set up to await the reconstruction of Zergue in Neustria.

The next day, the Kingdom of Nurcimal, where the Bearinx ruler has gone into exile with his now-separatist group, the People's Republic of Zergue, declares war on the Principality of Neustria, triggering the Nurcimal War, which the Neustrian Prime Minister will simply ignore, given the lack of power of this self-proclaimed micronation.

On May 16, 2023, the Neustrian Protectorate of Zergue was proclaimed and Théo Ligniville, former Prime Minister of Zergue, was appointed President of the Provisional Council of Zergue. The following day, he signed a peace treaty, a treaty of mutual recognition and a treaty guaranteeing mutual independence with the Principality of Neustria.

Afterwar consequences

Rise of separatism

Zerguese separatism emerged after the proclamation of the Neustrian Protectorate of Zergue, but it was divided because the Republic of Zergue group, made up of Nazis and Communists who collaborated together under the leadership of former leader Léo Vander, saw Communists dissident around the separatist People's Republic of Zergue group around the one they considered the legitimate leader: Bearinx, especially as these Communists took a dim view of collaboration with neo-Nazis.

Divided micronational world

A coalition of anti-neustrial micronations has formed around a separatist group called the Republic of Zergue: Republic of Collumia, Soviet Republic of Fiera, Soviet Republic of Jaïlavera, Kingdom of Fronecos, Federal Union of the Southerner and the Participative Republic of Dibistan. Their stated aim is to combat supposed Neustrian imperialism, but the real geopolitical objective is to curb Neustria's expansion in power, which is leading to the decline of their respective powers.

Since that war, a veritable diplomatic iron wall has been erected between communist or fascist micronations and democratic micronations.

Neustria's allies, including the ambiguous Kingdom of Gier, unconditionally supported Prime Minister Wilfrid Orochi diplomatically and even militarily in the Zergue war.

The return of Thermidor Dufferandais

5 months earlier, the Treaty of Nisida Aspro was signed, a major inter-micronational treaty, diplomatically isolating the militant neo-Nazi Thermidor Dufferandais and his micronation called Kingdom of Brestand. Despite warnings from the Principality of Neustria, the Republic of Collumia left the Treaty of Nisida Aspro, prompting the almost immediate return of Thermidor Dufferandais.

One of his puppets, Enzo Vulpès, will supposedly be elected head of the Republic of Zergue separatist group. Together with the Participative Republic of Dibistan and the Soviet Republic of Jaïlavera, he will carry out terrorist attacks against digital elements of the Neustrian Protectorate of Zergue. They will spread fake-news about Neustrian Prime Minister Wilfrid Orochi, notably using the term "Putinist" to describe him, despite his unconditional support for Ukraine in the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Future knowledge of the conflict

Wilfrid Orochi, Prime Minister of the Principality of Neustria, wanted to overthrow Zerguese power and democratize it, not invade it. However, his minister Rocco Venti, in charge of building one of the weapons to achieve this, lied to him about the weapon, making him believe it wasn't ready, which wasn't true, to push the Prime Minister to go to war.
