On 12 October 2019, the Secretary-General of the Collective Leadership, BTH Braddock called for a snap election, stating that 'the tensions in the cabinet and UNPLS were unmanageable...the only way to escape the parliamentary deadlock is to hold a snap election.' He also revealed in the statement that two days before, secret negotiations had been held between Braddock and Samuel Crawford, the leader of the Green Party of West Moravia (GPWM). The two had agreed that their respective parties should merge into a new party, the 'Christian Green Democratic Alliance' (CGDA), a centre-left party that would stand as Christian-rooted eco-socialist alliance. Were the CGDA to win the election, Braddock went on to state, he and Crawford would become co-Secretary-Generals in the UNPLS. The campaign began on 13 October, with election day due to take in the week of 4 November. So far, three parties have put forward candidacies for the election: the 'Conservative Alliance', led by Harry Wrighthouse; 'The Rogues Party', led by Isaac Hanfrey; and the 'CGDA', led by Benedict Braddock and Samuel Crawford.

The 16th of October, 2019, will surely go down in West Moravian history as a most remarkable date. On one day, the Green faction of the CGDA voted to leave the party. As a result, due to disagreement in the GPWM, it split itself into two separate parties - the Yellowy-Green Party, led by Sebastian Friessner-Day, and the United Green Party led by Samuel Crawford. The Conservative Alliance (CA) held a leadership election that unseated Harry Wrighthouse and elected James Carder-Geddes to be the new CA leader. The Woodford Calvinist League entered the election, as did the YGP and the UGP. The UNPLS voted for the election date to be changed to 17th October, and extended the number of seats in the UNPLS to 8, with the Gloucester Ward voting that evening.
