The Chairman of the Christian Nationalist Party of Melite (Maltese: Iċ-Ċerman tal-Partit Nazzjonalista Kristjan ta' Melite) is the highest-ranking official and head of the Christian Nationalist Party of Melite (PNK), the ruling party of the Democratic Christian Federation of Melite. The Christian Nationalist Party (Maltese abbreviation: PNK) was founded at around September 2021 by its first Chairman Matthew T., at the time also President of a newly reformed D.C.R. 11B and later Melite.

History and election of the office

Originally intended to be the only political party in Melite, it was formed in a manner to preserve some of the characteristics of the old Potato Party, for example, the leader being called General Secretary of the CNP. However, use was never made of the title, opting to use 'Chairman' (Maltese: Ċerman) instead, in a move directly inspired from the leadership of the Chinese KMT. The post is directly elected by party members, however with no statutes regulating the party, this has been only been practiced once de facto since the resignation of Chairman Matthew.
