The Constitution of the Kingdom of Wellmoore is the founding document and supreme law of the Kingdom of Wellmoore. Its articles confirm the power of the Monarchy of the Kingdom of Wellmoore as well as the Government of Wellmoore along side the Prime Minister of Wellmoore.

Since the Constitution was written and enacted by King Luke of Wellmoore, it has been amended twice.

History

Original Draftings

The Constitution of Wellmoore was originally drafted on the 14th of March 2020, on the day of Wellmoore's foundation, piggybacking off of the US Constitution but instituting a monarchy and a government similar to that of the UK's government. The constitution was then passed to institute the government.

Later in Wellmoore's history, the first Prime Minister of Wellmoore and two Members of Parliament within Wellmoore also reviewed the constitution and all approved of its contents.

Structure

Preamble

The preamble serves as the introduction to the Constitution and briefly states the aims of the document.

Articles

The Articles clearly define the powers of the Monarch, the Prime Minister, the House of Ministers and House of Lords. It also provides basic rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of expression.

Amendments

The current amendments enforce rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion and to ratify English and Portuguese the national languages of Wellmoore.
