The Crown Prince of Norvika is the heir apparent to the Throne of Norvika. The office is, constitutionally, usually given to the eldest male heir to the throne due to Norvika's male-preference succession laws and is a primarily ceremonial office. It is held until the holder succeeds the throne.

The office is currently vacant.

History

The role of crown prince was established by the constitution of Norvika. The constitution was ratified on 26 October 2023, establishing the office legally upon its ratification.

Titles and Role

The title is neither automatic or inheritable. It merges with the crown when the title's holder eventually accedes to the throne or its holder passes away before taking the throne, leaving the monarch to grant the title to the next in line to the throne after the former holder. The title is officially appointed by the Monarch. As the title is constitutional used to denote the heir apparent to the throne, the monarch is constitutionally bound to grant the title to his or her eldest son due to the monarchy's succession is male-preference primogeniture.

No official public role or responsibilities have been legislated by parliament or otherwise delegated to the crown prince by the monarch, constitution, law, or custom. The crown prince, however, is typically expected to aid the monarch in their public duties and is sometimes permitted to grant royal warrants on behalf of the monarch.
