The Province of Donnauberg is the primary province of the Kingdom of Laskaridia. It was founded de-jure by Shahan I after his conquest of the area. Its current Seneschal is George Celenic, and its current Governor is Aran Daniel. The province was founded upon Laskaridia's founding, it is one of the major provinces of the realm in terms of history and culture.
History
Donnauberg originates from a small plot of land claimed by the House of Drummont, which was an important family whose members served as clerks, religious officers and heralds to the Emperor of Westavia. The family developed the area and pushed its claims to the outskirts of Laskaridia. It serves as an important area for processions and sometimes mock battles. Several parades were also held there.
Donnauberg saw military action twice, during the Ruisseauan Civil War and the Insurgency in Westavia. The Shahanian revivalists and the loyalists tore the House of Donnauberg, with a large portion of the house supporting a Shahanian revival, and the minority supporting the side of John Alexander of Ruisseau, as such the area of Donnauberg was seized by revivalist armies and was a stronghold right up until the Battle of Laskaridia in late 2019 and early 2020. The second military action was during the insurgency, brief battles and firefights occurred in Donnauberg, and it saw action in the various sieges and offensives that took place during the insurgency. Lots of flags were planted and remote-control car traps were installed.
Government
The Government of Donnauberg's head of state is the Seneschal of Donnauberg, who is the ceremonial representative of the monarch and assumes its power. The head-of-government is the Governor of Donnauberg, who presides over the Reprasentantenkammer, which is the main representative chamber in Donnauberg.
Culture
Donnauberg is inspired by German culture, but has influences from French, Italian and English culture. Previously, before the Juniperian era, Donnauberg was a largely Westavian culture, whose cuisine, songs and symbols were all Westavian-inspired. Currently, its residents largely practice French and German culture.
