The Young Roscami Movement (Gaeilge: Gluaiseacht Óg Roscami), commonly abbreviated to YRM or GÓR, is the youth wing of the National Catholic League. Formerly an affiliate of the capitalist Republican Bloc, it was founded in June 2022 as a group for young people (defined as those under 14) who wished to expand the RB but were not old enough for the main party.

The Young Roscami Movement serves primarily as the NCL’s youth wing, and is controlled directly by the main party establishment.

History

The Young Roscami Movement was established in June 2022, as the youth group for the Republican Bloc. After the dissolution of the party in January 2023, the youth group remained orphaned.

When the United Front (UF) was founded, the UF took the movement under its command, reforming it as its youth branch. After the party was renamed the National Catholic League (NCL) and took on a new tougher ideology, the movement shifted alongside the main party.

Organisation

The Young Roscami Movement sets itself out to accommodate youth who wish to join the National Catholic League, but are not old enough. The movement has no autonomous power, instead being controlled through the NCL Paramount Leadership.

Notes

  1. As youth wing of the National Catholic League.
  2. As the youth movement of the NCL.
