The National Police (Efrasachin: Policie Nacionale), officially the National Police of the Kingdom of Efransa (Efrasachin: Policie Nacionale du Rouiame od Elfransa), is the law enforcement arm of His Majesty’s Government. The King is the Commissioner and appoints the Chief, who is the highest uniformed Officer.
The National Police has eight officers and four investigators. The National Police is divided into four Precincts, conterminous with the Provinces. Each Precinct has two officers and one investigator. The Chief of the National Police also appoints a Sergeant to command each Precinct.
History
The National Police began as the Federal Police of the Efrasachin (Iblusigonian) Empire. The Federal Police was mainly an enforcement arm for the will of the authoritarian Emperor and President of the Government. It was commanded by the Chief Superintendent. The Federal Police was very short-lived.
The Royal Police of Maradia was far more democratic than the Iblusigonian Federal Police. The Royal Police was the first instance where a Chief (then still Chief Superintendent) was appointed. The Royal Police was followed by the Ludisirgan State Police, which itself was followed by the Union Police of Efransa.
The current established National Police was created by the National Police Act of 2020. It established the unique Committee of Inspectors, which was never allowed under the prior incarnations. It is also the first version to have an established command structure.
Structure
The King, as Commissioner, has lawful command authority over the National Police, rarely is this power exercised. Most commands come from the Minister of Home Affairs, Director of National Security, or the Chief of the National Police. The Chief of Investigations has oversight over the investigators.
The National Police is divided amongst Precincts, commanded by a Sergeant and comprising two Officers and one Investigator. There is one Precinct for each Province and another for the rest of Efransa.
The Committee of Inspectors is a non-required body allowed to be established by the King. It comprises an equal number of National Police officers/investigators and civilians. The Committee was established by the King in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd.
